Alright, this'll be the last of my new topics for now

I'm doing CH again and I'm noticing something: none of the boxes Im training provide me with anything at all but the max level of pets skill. None of the other skill mods and commands have any meaning to me because I use the pets I already had when I was a CH the first time, they already have all the commands.

New players of course don't have this, no pets nor do the pets have commands. However, buying your XP-gaining pet from the BEs is pretty much what everyone seems to do when they pick up the profession, and CH's aren't very rare, so getting your pet trained would be little added trouble, putting everyone in the same boat: all you do is get XP so you can get higher CL pets.

Out of 18 boxes, what you get is:

- higher CL

-2 additional pets out

- xx additional stored pets (not sure off-hand how many)

-enrage/embolden pets.

Maybe my outlook is just a little gloomy because I don't really look forward to gaining the XP to make it to the high levels again, but it just seems as though there's not much to gain during the advancement of Creature Handler.

Someone please comfort me and tell me what I'm missing, because I'd hate to grind through the profession without the fun I used to have in it. Is it really this little that we get over the course of our profession, and if so, is that really a bad thing?

Let one thing be clear, this isn't meant to be an attack on the profession or devs, I'm just trying to find the fun again, and it looks like I need a little help with it.

My goal is to get to a CL level high enough to tame a Prowling Gurreck. After that I'll see if I go higher back to MCH again, that's up in the air because I'll have to drop Ranger, something I don't want to do.

Wish I had an answer for you there, Goat. Pretty much for me getting the new commands was something that I used as a selling point, since I'm in it for the pet trade and do very little hunting myself. It's kind of like having Politician . . . you get new things to do, but they're pretty useless in the long run because once you use them, you don't need to use them again, or someone used them before you so you don't need to. Add to that how often you actually USE most of those commands, and it becomes a bit more pointless.

I'd rather see the commands just be something you get when you pick up CH (except Mount and Transfer, which I do think should be earned), and have the skill boxes give you RELLY useful things, like specials from your mount, your mount fighting while you ride, increased attack speed from the pet, pets gaining battle experience and getting stronger from your training ability, even something like pets adding to entertainer buffs as they learn to perform their tricks better if grouped with an entertainer.
