I just got back into SWG about 2 days ago, the last time I played was about a month after its release. I see that now you can get both vehicles and mounts which are both very cool. I know pretty much how vehicles work now, but im not so sure about mounts. First off, what do you need to mount a creature? What CH skill, or skill branch would I need to pursue, if any?

I am currently making a character on starsider that I want to be a Master Rifleman and Master Ranger. That leaves 18 points left over. I could throw some of these into creature handling if it meant that I could get a mount I probably will.

Just let me know, trying to keep my options open, even though that is aways off yet.

You need to have Creature Management IV to train a creature as mount.

There are six mount types:

dewbacks

bols

carrion spats

kaadus

falumpasets

brackasets

There are CL 10 or below versions of each of these (exception: carrion spats, which are already CL 10) that can be tamed and trained as a mount.

Potential mount creatures must be old enough (the graphic must be big enough) to be trained as a mount.

The CH only mounts generally are trainable as mounts very young, while the non-CH mount versions must be nearly full grown.

Tazz vonMannstein Baron-Administrator of Corellia, master navigator of Corellia, captain of the Gregarious Gurreck

Sio Babble MBH/MCH/Cabana Boy; master of Tyson, the GNORT OF DEATH

Jeffn Akbar Nerfed from here to Lok MD/MCM

Zanti Agaesia Bothan MBE, 12 point Master Chef, Havoc Squadron Ace pilot

Anyone, evenpeople who are not creature handlers, can use a mount, provided the creature is a level 10 or less. Having CH skills obviously means you can have a bigger, better mount.

In order to train your own mounts, you must reach Level IV of the "Group Management" tree of CH. Creatures must be (nearly) full grown before they can become mounts.

Hope that helps.
