Thread: Potential Exploit? (0m aggro'd pets)

I noticed this twice this weekend in melee (pikeman):

I would send my pet against a lair or mob, call it back to engage the mob, and set it to attack again to keep the aggro on it... however, with the 0m bug, larger pets (or maybe all of them) just freeze and pivot near me as the mob attacks them. An exploit may be engaging mobs yourself and having both pet and mob freeze at this spot.

The pet doesn't have to be on me at 0m, but they do stop at 0m or near 0m and just stay there as the mob attacks them -- they do not attack back if I do not order them. That may be old news, but I wonder if there's a potential exploit with NPC or humanoid mobs whereby they sometimes get caught and just pivot around the pet while someone can easily engage them? It seems that mobs and pets sometimes get caught up in a bug where they just turn around each at the position I called the pet back to. And I'm not sure if the mob attacks at all. This is clearly happening with large pets and small mobs, but I don't know if it's consistent. Has anyone else experienced this? I tried to /bug it already.

I have not seen what you describe... past the pets wanting to be at 0m.

But if looking into a bug helps them to have some motivation on fixing the current pet distance problems, I am all for getting it known!
