Thread: Maybe a stupid question regarding + taming clothes....

I have recently begun to use my higher level pets that I have. Currently I´m at a CH lvl of 47. My question is fairly easy. When a CH reaches Master he/she gets +70 in Max handling. If I were to buy two clothing parts (pants, shirt) with each +25. Would I then have +130 and be able to have, for example, two lvl 50 rancors out at the same time and controll them without complications?

As the subjects implies... this may be a stupid question but I need to know for sure how things are.

No, the taming clothes don't give you a bonus to the Max Level of Pets... which is your base mod for determining what non agro cl you can control.

You can never (without bugs/exploits) get past the cl 70 limit.

The taming clothes do raise your skill for controling agro critters though. So if you are a non wookie you will want some for controlling any agro pets past a certain lvl (but still under cl 70).

Also, anymore than +25 on the taming clothes doesn't help you.

The +Taming clothes won't affect your Max Pet Levels. As a master that will still be capped at 70 and will continue to limit the total level of any pets you have out (whether one or more pets, as a master the sum of their levels will still not exceed 70).

What the +Taming clothes do, though, is increase your Tame Wild (non-aggro) and Tame Vicious (aggro) skills. This effectively increased the level of creatures you can tame. As a non-wookie master, those levels are +75 and +50 respectively. Since your Max Pet Levels skill won't increase, you won't notice a difference on non-agressive creature -- except you fail to tame less often. For aggressive babies, this will allow you to tame stuff between level 50 and level 70.

Wookies get the natural +10 bonus to Tame Wild and Tame Vicious (lucky furballs), but they're still capped at 70 Max Pet Levels. There is also a persistant theory that multiple +Taming clothes don't stack in regards to pet levels (for example, a +12 hat and a +12 robe will show a +24 modifier but you won't actually be able to tame creatures 24 levels above what you normally can).As a Master, I can't confirm this because my +25 hat and robe push me well beyond the Max Pet Level limit anyway.
