the spawn area is LARGE ...encompasses most of the river systems running through the middle of corellia...

I've seen one in the slurbs about 1200m N of Coronet on Ahazi, just wandering around, scaring the hell out of shopkeepers and durni alike. The first one I saw was just north of a forested area about 2000m north of Coronet, or about 1500m south of the Nyax Compound.

If you go North from Cnet about 5k-6km, and then from there a radius of 4km all around is GPS land. While trying to land my 2nd GPS I seen 6 spawns in one night, but there were no babies.
Of course they can be found in odd places like 2km from Cnet, but the heart of thier spawns is where I stated above.
A good tip I use is, flying on my speeder with the radar on wide, ungrouped. You see 1 solo Red Agro dot, just might be a GPS.

bumping my field guide up for you ekaw
In each wp provided have killed at least 5 GPS in that wp area.

that is what i was wondering, is the nyax stronghol d the only place they spawn, or is it that noone goes anywhere else on Correlia...?

It's random. I saw one about 500m outisde of Corellia a few months ago. Totally shocked to see one that close to the city. I thought it was a razor cat. Don't know if anyone was ever able to get a baby from it. I'm not at the level yet.

I agree. I have only seen one GPS farther than 80 meters from a river. I troll the rivers north and north east of coronet and see at least 2 everytime I go. I've tamed 5 GPS so far. Try doing this and good luck.
