Suposidly they "Blaenced" the taming formula to garontee the possability to yame all creatures within our level. I'm still a little confused as to exactly what they did, but I'll have to scheck it out when the servers come back up.

with the new patch today

Changed chance-to-tame formula for creature handlers to ensure that you have a chance to tame and can call any pet that you should be able to tame according to your "tame level" skill. You still need at least some Tame Vicious Creatures skill in order to tame or call aggressive creatures. In general, if your tame level is 70, then you should have a chance of taming and be able to call any creature up to level 70, without additional skill bonuses from species or skilltapes. Tame bonus, tame wild animals and tame vicious creatures bonuses will still be useful in taming creatures in fewer attempts, but will no longer make the difference between being able to make the attempt

there are two different creature levels. one is for non aggro creatures, such as kaddu's and bantha's. the vicious creature level, is the ability to tame creatures that will aggro or attack on sight. if you dont have a high enough vicious taming skill you cant tame the higher lvl aggressive creatures such as rancors and some of the higher level pets.

oh, and anyone know if deathshead mereks still spawn babies? and if they do, are they tameable? and if they are tameable, what level are they? i have some avengers, and battlelords that i use when soloing really high stuff but was seeing if i could find a higher level merek than 51~57 or whateve rthe battlelords are.

I understand that, but do you get the vicious taming level by simply getting skills in ch, or by taming creatures, or BE clothes....thats what i dont understand

Hemen if you open your skills box, Ctrl + S and go to ch,

First column basically is for taming and calling viscous creatures, second column for taming in general and pet storage, third column (was for healing mind) isgood for comands and added storage, fourth column was good for multi-pet calling. This is a general view of the boxes, and each person has to look at what comands/skills he would like learn first to reflect his game style.

In the skills mod box (Still in skills Ctrl +S, look on left side middle section) you will see all your skills mod's by scrolling down you will see a sentence max lvl of pet, this number is the highest lvl of pet you can call out, so if you max level of pet is +42 then your highest pet or combination of pets would be lvl 42 (1 pet lvl 20+ one pet lvl22 = 2 pets out at once totalinglevel 42), If you have all four boxes of column one, then most pets will be tamable and callable for your max level of 42,

The viscous + mod = increases your chances of taming an agressive pet, ability to call an agressive pet.

The wild creatures mod = increases your chances of taming any creature.

Max lvl of pet = Highest level pet you can call. If calling more than one pet it is total lvl number

These are the most important mods in the skills mod section to view when grinding ch. no matter what level ch you are bio clothing is always good if not a must.

I think i got a little carried away with my explanation lol. hope it helps. If your still confused PM me and I'l try and explain it better lol. If your on shadowfire or tempest I could show you in person if needed.

so am I understanding this right... with skilltapes you can tame and control pets that are OVER lvl 70???

If lvl 70 is max... how will SOE compensate me for losing my Dalyrake (72) and Gnarbled Rancor (79)... It took me a long time to catch that Dalyrake... and I payed hard cash for the Rancor...

But tell you the truth... I rather take some skilltapes that allow me to use the pets... That would really be cool... to be able to boost your tame/control level over 70..

there are no tapes that increase your max creature level. just your creature taming level/ability. this means that it makes it easier to tame higher leveled animals. not control higher thanlevel 70creatures.

Skill tapes will only give you a bonus to having a successful tame. They will not increase you max level of pet.

70 is the highest level pet you can have

People have pulled tickets for the pets being converted to uncallable levels (Your lvl 72 Draly foe example) They basically have said sorry, tough luck try and find another.

As of right now I think ever ch would love to be able to have tapes that increase our max level above 70, but alas its not happening anytime soon lol.
