Thread: CH and resources

Vertexonmade a reference to Creature Handlers and harvesting resources in a thread the other day (I can't find it nor remember exactly what was said) Can anyone tell me how Creature Handler and resource harvesting are related if at all?

well as a scout on my way to ranger I find that being able to harvest resources helps a bit with your in-come. especially since CH can no longer sell pets at the bazaar.
so what I have been doing is taking missions for lairs(mainly low level as I am currently only ch 1/0/0/0) this helps with CH xp by using a low level pet(hermit spider of female Kaadu) I get CH xp from using my pet to kill the creatures at the lair, I then harvest the resources, fire off 1 or 2 shots at the lair(to try and get a baby to pop out and if one does then tame and train for more CH xp) then finish off the mission by killing the rest of the creatures spawned by the lair, and finally destroy the lair.
I harvest all resources from killed creatures then go and sell them on the bazaar, or donate them to med profs for heals.
so by doing 1 simple mission I manage to gain CHxp for using my pet to kill things and tame and trains on babys, rifle xp for shooting the creatures to assist my pet. trapping xp for scout by chucking traps at the creatures, scout xp from harvesting reources, cash for the mission and cash or free heals for the resources I collect.
I sometimes also use the resources collected for tents and traps.

I was under the impression that the pet could be used the way a droid is to harvest resources from dead animals, but this doesn't see to be true.

Actually, what's been said is that "We would like to have pets be able to harvest resources from dead animals like droids"
it's one of the many things and we wish we could get to be more viable to the community.

I regularly sell 50k stacks of resources to a master chef on our server for a nice sum. I figured if I am gonna kill these things might as well harvest and make some extra cash
