Yup, should at least be an option - call your pet, get the "Convert to useable pet" option which plops the name, commands, and both color and skin on whatever passes for a CL10 critter's stats in the NGE.
Ideally the new pet's size should be the same as the originals. However, I don't know if they store the "scale" of the critter in a meaningful way in the database or if that is a computed thing based on the growth and scale of the original variant of the skin. One can hope they'd Get This Right, but sadly I don't think anyone should hold their breath for it. Worst case, the pet size should be adult size, or better, give you a choice. An entertainer with a kawaii little gurrkitten may not want a full grown one, and I fear your shoulder high+ Swamp Stalkers will be the same either way
Since they never got around to implementing a sliding scale or anything of that sort for us BEs for our creations I don't know that they'd get this right either. It's certainly a point worth bringing to their attention if you persue this, though, as pets will no longer earn exp in the new system (no CH's, no reason to do so) and the old growth-over-time code is prolly gone as well.
I still wonder if the CL10s they are letting folks keepare going tobe able to even attack or if they'll just be window dressing you can call to do tricks, patrol, and wedge/column. Until they clone a real server for NGE testing noone will know for sure how this will work. The innate abilities may do nothing even if a pet can attack.
Of course, this being SOE you may want to consider this: they may make pets unable to attack (or be attacked, hopefully) but chances are high they haven't thought this through at all. They might still have their abilities... in which case, a CL10 pet with beastly con L1 and self sacrifice L3 might be handy. Since self sac currently also causes "guard" behaviour, if the pet can't attack (and presuming this won't just crash the whole server when the guarding kicks in and it WANTS to attack) it may just loyally stick with you absorbing damage. No clue what scale damage will be on, or if pets will regen or be healable, etc, etc, of course, but that combo may be worth a shot.
Furthermore, it'll be interesting to see if you can hide behind a large pet for cover, especially if they can't be attacked. Will they be transparent to attacks, or what? Will SOE have even considered this? Somehow I doubt it, but hopefully folks will test this as soon as it's possible and report back here, if there is a 'here' then.
BTW, for any other Lowca CH's (with preference to MCHs if I'm short of time) - I'll whip up nice BE'd CL10s for any CHs on Lowca who are sticking around if you'll drop Ketu an in-game mail (free, of course; at this point I see nothing to get me to play NGE and my sub is up on the 11th; if you don't see me in game, mail me in the forums as well as ketu_sringa). I also have Self Sac L1-L3 and Beastly Con L1-L2 I'll toss onto any CL10 or less which is already fully trained. Same for statues to use for existing pets or for old times sake (if you can stand the memory
... ).
I encourage all other BEs to do the same if you have the will left to do so.

I was happy with all the recent CH changes before this fiasco of an annoucement. This wouldn't make me "happy," but I would be more likely to give the NGE a small chance.
