Well with the demise of Creature Handler i feel a great sadness. I have been with SWG since launch and CH was my first master elite profession. CH was my first love. I have so many proud memories of it. I remember back in July 2003 when a player could have 3 Rancors out without a MCH title, it was a riot. I went through the first CH change that prevented such things from happening back in Augest 2003 and i have stayed true to her all these years. My fondest memories of CH was before mounts and vehicles. My guild was the first to settle on Dantoonie and errect a Guild hall there (back then halls were rare cause there was so few Master Archs). It was me and2 of my other guidmates (Basker and Resipsa, a testiment to you both). I remember traveling on foot on Dantoonie and transverst great plains to find this mysterious creature that everyone have been seeing but no one knew the name. It was a big hairy thing with long arms and a hutched back. I searched everywhere till after hours of being out in the wild i sat down and threw up a camp. Then, suddenly a argo lair spawned a few meters away. I looked over thinking it was lizards or hurtoons (damn i hated those things) but no it wasnt. It was the beast i been searching for, a whole family of them. I knew them to be Grauls, finally a name to the legend. I proned quickly and crawled towards them to get a better look and i was amazed at them.I knew we couldnt tame adults so i was sad, till suddenly i seen something crawl out from behind a hill. A baby!! I was so shocked i had to contain my excitment. I proned all the way to her on my belly, working as best i could to not argo momma and poppa. I got all the way to her and tamed her, then its sister saw me and argoed the whole family on my and incapped me, lol. After spending 30 mins looking at them and tracking there movements i knew the exact time i had to go crawl to the baby and tame it. I proned, quietly went around the parents and isolated the baby and tamed her. I named it Griffith, my first strongest pet the game. I was so proud of him i still have it till this day.

My best memories were of Talus in search of the Grand Sludge Panthers. No one knew where they spawned and everyone tried. I left work early one day just to spend hours trying to find them. I was told they spawn near water so i search and walked to every river on the planet with no luck, even enlisted the help of a wandering Master Ranger for the task. I found him in the wild and we laughed that we were in search of the same creature. We search for hours with no luck. Forrest, mountains, rivers, nothing. Then he got a hit and we searched all around (as you know rangers dont get a exact location just a general direction of where creatures are). And there they were, standing defiant and grand like thier names say. Three adults and to my shock 2 babies. We had to fight the parents (i only had Master Marksman at the time so it was a long hard fight) and then we finally had the babies alone. I tamed one and he tamed another. I called him Lion-0 and he was my first tiger, i still have him also. I went back and tamed his wife Cheetara and his hunting mate Panthro (hehe if any of you recognize the namesi was a big Thundercats fan as a kid in the 80's ). As a master CH i could call all 3 of them at once and i was so proud of them.

My heart was in this profession cause it involved so much patience and determination. We trained ourselves to read creatures and know the right time to tame them and when to pull back. We explored different worlds to see what else we could tame (my first merek i was proud of her cause she was a hard one to get). MCH was the most immersive profession there was before we seen our hardships. Many nerfs on how we could tame and what we could call, then finally being made usless when the CU was released cause our pets were stripped of armor and could not hold up a fight agaist high lvl mobs (it was a joke sending my lvl 50 Graul to try and take health off a lvl 70 mob to only be one shot killed).

And my last proudest memory was early in SWG's histroy when me and a few Master CH's went in search of the infamous Krayt Dragon. We search high and low and came across a GRand Ancient. We stood there, all 5 of us with our pistols and called our pets. We launched 5 Grauls at it and fired from hidden crevices in the mountains. It took 3 waves of grauls, panthers and mereks to kill the beast and we rejoiced in excitement at what we did (the fight was a long one). Man, i so enjoyed this profession. The player base is less than 1% because of what massive nerfs did to us, i do remmeber the day when every other player had some skill invested in CH. So guys, what were your best CH memoires. This is the last time we can vent and share what this profession meant to us cause it meant a lot to me and i could see the sadness in the CH correspondants letter to us cause it is a sad sad day in SWG.

To our pets and to our profession, into the light they go, though in darkness now, they will always shine in our hearts..

/salute

Loved reading your post.

I think one of my most memorable moments of CH was taming a voritor lizard on Dantooine. I believe I was killed a few times before I actually tamed the voritor, which I named Iggy. After the CU I was into finding the more rare babies and my data pad was full. With much sorrow I decided that Iggy would be released back into the wilds. I went out on Dantooine and released him in around the same area where he had been tamed.

About week later I was out and somehow agro'd a lair of quenkers, I had been incapped twice and was about to go down for the third time when out of no where a voritor lizard rushed in and attacked the quenkers. This voritor effectively took out the quenkers that were attacking me, and it never agro'd me. I always thought that this voritor was my faithful Iggy, coming back to save me. I have never seen a voritor do that before or since.

/salute to Iggy

Walking the earth with three frenzied graulers and a MCH title.

Yes, MCH is my first elite profession, it will be with me forever and my pets will stay with me even I can no longer call them out. They are my best memories in SWG, and nothing can wipe them from my memory.

All SWG professions are just skills but MCH is a passion.
