Thread: How do you store pets in a droid data pad?
It used to be possible to store pets in a droid with a data storage module. This wasn't intended functionality, though, so it was removed.
When the change was made (quite some time ago now), any existing pets inside droids were left there. If they're removed, however, they cannot be put back in.

The ONLY data you can store in a droid datapad is a player-created crafting schematic.
That is it.
Creatures stored in droid datapads was nerfed back in August, although some of us oldtimers (raises hand) still have critters that were stored back then on a droid datapad. Prior to that, it was possible to store missions in droid datapads, but those droid modules were nerfed as well. Some prenerf, still capable of storing mission droids are out there, but understandably they command very high prices if they're even for sale.
The capability to store creatures in droid datapads was nerfed across the board. Those creatures stored in droids are sitting there unharmed, but once they're removed, the can never be moved back into the droids, and no new creatures can be stored in them.

That's why I said that aspect of a droid is pretty much turd worthless. I mean when I was crafting I made my schematics as I needed them. Even though I didn't go far into the crafting scene I just don't see the point in storing schemtics only. That's one nerf they cantakeback to the person where it came from and apologize for taking it in the first place.
Well, I asked the same question at the time, and the silence was deafening.
It's why DEs were one of the most underloved professions out there for months, and why the "Droid Invasion" had to come about. Droids served very little useful purpose in the game for a long time.

Yeah, it's a 'Data' storage droid alright, but still will not let me store anything of any kind in it.
No biggy. Wasn't like I spent ton of creds on the piece of crap or anything.
I just needed to know for sure that it is of entirely no use. Now I can destroy it and make room for something that 'is' useful, like a creature sighting wp. 8-)

I'd give it or sell it to a die hard crafter who like to hold alot of schematics on hand. Atleast they may have some use for it since no one else does.
