I just got novice ch the other day, and my kaduu Quackers is at lvl 4 now. Sometimes when I attack stuff (i use unarmed) things will attack me, others they go straight after Quackers and beat her up. She's been knocked out quite a few times already.

Is there some way to keep stuff on me or am I doing something wrong?

You're doing nothing wrong, that's a matter of an AI fix they put in a few patches back. what was happening was that people were sending in their pets first, and with the pets attacking you NEVER had to worry about anything attacking you unless you were severely outdamaging your pets (in which case the target died quickly anyways). So they changed it so that there's a pretty equal chance that the mob will innitially go for either one of you.

If you want the mob to stick on you, attack first and do about 1/4 damage before telling your pet to attack. Your pet only needs to hit once to give you full CH XP, so don't worry about losing any.

If you want the mob to stick on your pet, send in the pet first with you in peace mode. Even if the mob goes for you, within a hit or two it will switch to the pet. Wait another round or so and start attacking, peacing when necessary.

I don't have this problem, but I'm usually 50+ meters away from the baddies. Rifle and CH go together like peas and carrots.
