Erm.. how's it work? As a Master CH from wayback(tm), I've kept up very little on the changes they've made since nerfing exp, adding in ranged attacks/specials/etc and rearranging the tame boxes.

Tells for Non CH (sub-level 10) mounts seem to be about the only direct businessI get with my Master CH title up... I'd like to capture more non CH level mounts, but heck, even the kaadu i find are max level 14.. they're grown to level 9 of 14 now, but i still don't get the option to train them as mounts yet. How does stunting work, and how early can i train a given baby as a mount? It it 3/4 of max level, or? I'll do some more poking about the FAQs, but if anyone has this info readily available id appreciate it.

My character name is Kyrina on Wanderhome, if anyone knows of a quality master BioEngineer that can do up some nice mounts (CH and Non CH) banthas, dewies, etc... That'd be great. I like being the proverbial 'camel trader' at times, but I'm running out of options on finding non ch mounts.

There was also something mentioned in the FAQs about someone getting the option to lower the level on pets and/or turning them in after the first time they mount them... Is that only a non ch who gets that option, or can i train my kaadu at level 14 as mounts, then 'stunt' them to 10?

For some reason they decided to limit the non-CH mounts in the game. RIght now there's lowland brackasets, lesser plains bols, andI think they're called lesserdewbacks available for non-CH's. Best bet is to find a BE, can't help you there because I thinkWanderhome is about the only server I didn't have an alt on hehe.

When a mountable pet hits level 11 you can trade it in with a Creature Handler trainer. HOWEVER...

Creature Handlers can't. Has to be a non ch player that drags it from his datapad onto the trainer.

So Johnny Noob wants a Bantha. It's a BE one he found on a vendor. He's given it to you to grow, train and nurture.
But it's a level X(19) so you need to give it back to him when it hits 11 and he needs to go to the CH trainer (I don't think it can be done beforehand).

The CH trainer will give him a level 10 dewback in return. Johnny Noob gets angry cos he wanted a Bantha, so he doesn't even bother giving you the Dewback to train and goes off in a huff.

The moral of the story is, make sure that mounts are max level 10 to avoid any tears.

I know that Carrion Spats, Lesser Plains Bols, Lesser Dews, and Lowland Bracs can be trained as a non-ch mount.

I don't get involved with trading in mounts to CH trainers. The one time I did it, the customer got a Kwi for his Cu pa..bleh. I stick to those 4 mounts for non CH and generally just keep a few in my inventory in case I get a customer query.

I did have to stunt my Giant Carrion Spat however. They can be mounted at level 1. When it had grown to level 14, I called from my data pad and recieved a message about stunting its growth. When I responded yes, it lowered its level to 12, where it has remained since. I believe it has something to do with the models and mount gear.

I support the eating of pie.

the natural non-ch mounts are carrion spats, lesser bols, lesser dewbacks and lowland brackasets.

you can get any type of mount made by a BE just so long as it doesnt grow over CL10. however there is a bug that means that you buy a deed for this pet that looks perfectly reasonable, cl 10, 1k HAM no specials. yet when you tame it the system decides its illegal and gives you the option of altering its stats or rasiing its CL. obviously if its CL10 then you dont want to raise its CL so your only option will be to lower its stats, which usualy wipes off 2/3 of its HAM. if you do raise its CL it will jump all the way up to CL 11, but its HAM will stay the same.

the only pet whos growth can be 'stunted' is the giant carrion spat, sa that not a non-ch mount in any case i wouldnt worry about it.
