Thread: A question regarding mounts and stunting growth...
Creature Handlers can't. Has to be a non ch player that drags it from his datapad onto the trainer.
So Johnny Noob wants a Bantha. It's a BE one he found on a vendor. He's given it to you to grow, train and nurture.
But it's a level X(19) so you need to give it back to him when it hits 11 and he needs to go to the CH trainer (I don't think it can be done beforehand).
The CH trainer will give him a level 10 dewback in return. Johnny Noob gets angry cos he wanted a Bantha, so he doesn't even bother giving you the Dewback to train and goes off in a huff.
The moral of the story is, make sure that mounts are max level 10 to avoid any tears.
I don't get involved with trading in mounts to CH trainers. The one time I did it, the customer got a Kwi for his Cu pa..bleh. I stick to those 4 mounts for non CH and generally just keep a few in my inventory in case I get a customer query.
I did have to stunt my Giant Carrion Spat however. They can be mounted at level 1. When it had grown to level 14, I called from my data pad and recieved a message about stunting its growth. When I responded yes, it lowered its level to 12, where it has remained since. I believe it has something to do with the models and mount gear.
the natural non-ch mounts are carrion spats, lesser bols, lesser dewbacks and lowland brackasets.
you can get any type of mount made by a BE just so long as it doesnt grow over CL10. however there is a bug that means that you buy a deed for this pet that looks perfectly reasonable, cl 10, 1k HAM no specials. yet when you tame it the system decides its illegal and gives you the option of altering its stats or rasiing its CL. obviously if its CL10 then you dont want to raise its CL so your only option will be to lower its stats, which usualy wipes off 2/3 of its HAM. if you do raise its CL it will jump all the way up to CL 11, but its HAM will stay the same.
the only pet whos growth can be 'stunted' is the giant carrion spat, sa that not a non-ch mount in any case i wouldnt worry about it.
