Thread: Something wrong with taming (other than can't tame bug)?

Posted this in the "can't tame bug" thread,because I didn't realize at first that this is a different problem.The "can't tame" bug iswhere people are getting the "can't tame" message. Apparently, they are unable to even make the attempt to train.
Last night, I was able to make the attempts to tame just fine, but my attempts kept failing. I was trying to tame a CL 70 shear mite while wearing +25 taming pants. I stopped counting after 20 failed attempts, but I figure I made a minium of 30 attempts - hey, I'm stubborn.
That's just utterly ridiculous - both that I actually tried 30+ times before giving up and that I was unable to tame the mite. Is anybody else having difficulties taming higher level pets? A CL 80 MCH should be able to tame any pet completely naked after that many attemptslet alonewhile wearing clothes that give +25 totaming.
With the new combat level system, I believe it vital that we have the highest level pet possible. Right now that's CL 70, but I can just see us getting the ability to control pets over CL70and still not be able to tame them.

Yeah I have posted on another thread that I have the very same problem. I have pretty much given up taming at this time because of the number of attempts is just getting to much.

I have had the same experience. Basically anything over level 60 is so hard and frustrating (and BORING) to tame I have given up. I don't mind 2 or 3 attempts on a tough creature. 20 or 30 attempts is not fun, it's boring, and I refuse to do it.
One of these days game designers are going to realize that long periods of inactivity, boredom, and frustration do NOT equate to a fun and exciting gaming challenge. One would think that would be self-evident but clearly it's not.

Yeah same here, though I'm only max pet lvl 14 (which btw I don't always get the tame option for a lvl 13 animal... just figured there was some hidden thing similar to it being agressive and I can't do those yet)
It was a spider some kind, on naboo, like 20+ times. Did get it finally. I didn't mind too much, accept it didn't seem like a "special" animal that deserved 20+ times *lol*. It wasn't elite even...

Glad I'm not the only one - thought maybe I was just a loser (hey, no comments!)
