Thread: Vesp Owners (if there are any), I have a question

The Desert Vesp seems to be the best of them. They are interesting creatures (look like mini-krayts, or somewhat like bocatts, same wire-frame behind the way they are drawn)...

..either way, with the strong poison attack, would you say these creatures are worth going after as a mid-level pet? According to swgcreatures.com, all variants of the vesp are tamable. For a CL30 creature, the reported HAM on them is impressive. Don't know if I like the resists they have, but I'm just curious about them.

So....any takers? Does anyone use them? I did a search on the forums and found virtually nothing about them. I honestly don't spend a lot of time on Lok (which is why I was not aware of their existence even though I've been an MCH for 7 months now).

Ty, I have a dragonet which is a similar model, except for the strong poison. It is great on NPCs, for whatever reason.

I always wonder how useful DoT attacks are, since combat doesn't usually last that long

I have had a few pets with "strong posion" or "strong disease" attacks.
I have found them to be rather useless. The Tick takes too long, and at most does 100 pts of damage.
In combat against NPC's it's a joke you can do more damage with a body/action/head shot.

I put animals with posion/disease attacks as a good sensable idea that was poorly implemented.

Interesting....sounds like either no one has any real interest in these creatures as tamables, or they are rare as h***.

I'm on Lok now, I'll report back what I find. The info on the Desert Vesp on swgcreatures.com is sketchy at best.

I used to depend on a vesp when I was a mid-level handler... but I forget which species of vesp it was. I was very happy with its performance and fighting ability. Damn thing used to start fights with random creatures if I remember correctly. And they do have a nice appearance, curved horns and red eyes...

Tzitzimime - Creature Handler and Pikeman since the beginning.
I continue to play this game out of love for my professions.

When the "New Game Enhancements" go live, I will leave this game.
You can give it a pretty name, but it does not hide your shame...

"I mean, what is a pikeman and why is it something in the game? The only other profession we didn't absorb into one of these iconic templates is the creature handler and only 1% of our players play that character type."

My gorge vesp's principle advantage is that in a confused battle situation, he's got a a very low profile and can tank nicely. Used to tank better when he had light armor, of course. Still, vesps don't take up a lot of visual real estate, which your team mates will appreciate.

Dragonets from Dantooine ( level 50 ones) look really good, however I ripped up many nests and did not find a baby, would be a good pet if they did spawn babies though.

I love the NGE... don't you?
