Thread: Village quest and annoying bug lead to two awesome tames!

After two years of playing (minus 3 month hiatus) I became glowy and started the village for Jedi. I entered near the end of phase 2 and started Whip's quest to retrieve supplies from Endor. On my first run there on the way back to the starport, I see for the first time a boar wolf baby. Hold village quest! Try to get near him and mama gives me the smackdown. I run away and come back for a second try. I get close to the baby again, start the tame and get him on the first try! Sweet! Got out of Dodge fast and proceeded back to Dathomir.
On the way back to the village, I get aggroed and run away. Aggro doesn't break and I can't get back to the village until I am at peace! So I bug it, try to break by going to log in screen and also by completely logging out. Upon logging back in still fighting nothing! Create a CSR ticket and try to figure out what to do. I decided to follow my path back to the outpost to see if I can find out what is attacking me and either kill it or run away so it will break aggro. So I am tabbing through every red dot and finally find the flashing red creature. A mature reptillian flyier! And what is in his group? A baby mature reptillian flyer! The first one I had seen of these too!So I get lucky and break the first aggro and circle back around for the baby. Momma puts the smackdown on me four or five times before I successly approach the baby on my swoop. I get close, get off, hit the tame option on the radial and prepare to run again. Holding my breath and fingers on this one! Once again, tamed on the first attempt! Got out of Dodge a second time! Was then able to make it to the village for a drop off of the supplies.
Talk about Murphy's law meeting Luck of the Irish! Fortunately for me, I am part Irish in my heritage and the Luck won out tonight. For all you CH out there looking for your perfect tames, keep you chin up. Good luck to you all.

Cool! A most happy ending. Warms my heart, it does.
BTW, an easy way to break out of that perma-combat bug is to attack and kill another nearby creature.

With all the problems and stuff going on, (not just the CH profession). Its great to hear about someone's sucess and joy. Great job on the tames.

I have an ancient flyer and I was pleased that it was one of the few pets that actualy got much better post CU. I had it because it was fast and looked cool, but now its a CL65 or something like that and packs a pretty good whollop. Its slow as a boat like everything else but it still looks pretty cool. (still has a broken icon in the datapad though.)

Remeber when we could tame ON the swoop... I tamed my gleaming lanturn bird that way, it was the only way to keep up..
However that used to only work for flying creatures.
