Creature Handler Archive

It's been a while since we heard that the pet special system is being totally revamped. Does anyone have any idea at all when the new system is set to go live (or even on TC)?

The new system for Patch 20 will not directly focus on pet specials, but it's an excelentadded bonus. The new system will allow a creature handler to teach their pet to perform a special attack. For instance, you would be able to train a pet to perform Knockdown and/orStun, but I'm not sure the system worksfor toxin/disease-based attacks.Sorry, but I don't have a link to the thread the conversation was on.

They're changing how pet aggroing and pulling and stuff work in pub 20 arent they?

But I don't think they're doing anything about specials yet.

They changed it so the pet pulling no longer works and I've seen nothing on specials.

I have wild and BE pets and have not gotten any choices/abilities to train specials on a pet.

Note - MCH on TC-Prime

We have always had the ability to train specials. If an animal doesn't have a special you will not be given the option to train. Because specials are broken and do not show up on pets, you never see the option to train.

I saw nothing in Patch 20 that addresses specials in anyway, only the change that turns pets into instant mass aggro creators.

Darker than CL 1(0) where the real CL of all creatures was 1? That is going to be REALLY REALLY dark

I haven't read anything about specials in this next publish, but what I have read is gonna hurt just as bad as the 1(0) bug, and maybe worse depending on how long we have to endure it. Right now the only thing pets can do well is pull single targets from a group so you can take em down 1 by 1. After this next publish if you try to have your pet pull an aggresive or social NPC/creature from a group it will draw agro from the rest of the group. These extras will agro YOU, not your pet.If we ever get pet specials againhopefully one of them lets pets use tactical nukes. Otherwise I think we're screwed.
