Thread: Is Pet Naming Broken? (Or am I just stupid? :-)
You are probably not stupid, but the naming usualy works for me just fine. You have to choose a name that dosn't run afoul of the naming filters, but thats about it. (there is no warning if it doesn't work, it just doesn't)
For review.....
Teach the pet four differentcommands using the name you want in this format....
<name> <command>
I don't use /tellpet when naming my pets. I have seen on these forums that when you use /tellpet you can't use capital letters, well withjust usingspatial you can name your pets with capital letters.
/tellpet is good for when fighting with your pets but when training them, I perfer to spam the spatial in a deserted area.
Or perhaps we like being weak in games like this, strength isn't everything.

You know, some of us do like to play the profession rather than complain about it all of the time. If you don't like it, I suggest finding something else to do.
The naming filter filters names that are 1. related to Star Wars characters OR objects (only certain ones)
2. name of ANOTHER creature in the game, like you can't name a carrion spat kreetle.. I am pretty sure that still is like that..
3. bad names or curse words
4. Some people names don't work, and like since there is an Arachne widow.. you can't name a pet Widow unless it has a - after it like Widow-Maker
5. and of course.. bugs sometimes the game has convulsions.
* 25 characters or less
* No spaces
* Naming filter applies
* No special characters (hyphens, quotes, etc.)
* No numbers
* Names are case sensitive
And of course, if the naming filter rejects the name, it won't notify you...it just won't take.
