sure you could do it. mastering both CH and SL would leave 38 points left over. your combat effectiveness would be low, however. SL does not grant any attack specials, though you would get some from Ranged Support 4 in Marksman.

if you wanted to use those left over skill points on a ranged prof, you could get 1 tree in Pistoleer, Carbineer, or Rifleman. arguably your better bet for combat would be some Bounty Hunter since you already have the prerequisite skills. this would allow more efficient use of points. you could get 1 full tree and then half of the other two BH trees. if you went this route you would want to pick from the 3 combat BH trees, not invest. these give general ranged accuracy and speed mods and general defences as well as combat specials.

or, you could go for some medic. pick up 0430 and you'd be a Squad Leading, Creature Handling, Healing machine!

Ya, if you go that route, best to accept being support and get some healing. Creature meat shields, volley fire and rally, and some healing, good stuff. You wouldnt be able to solo much though.

I am not trying to flame or be mean but.... IMO thats the worst template in the game period. SL is 90% broken and CH is vastly underpowered.... "meatshield" is the only thing that comes to mind with this template.

orrybecca - you'll have a hard time getting positive feedback on your template cause its not uber.your template looks like a lot of FUN -BECAUSE ITS A SUPPORT TEMPLATE. i have a similar SUPPORT template MSL/MCM /medic 0440 /novice rifles - and i get alot of "god that template sucks yer gonna get pwnd" from the kiddies. well thats fine they can go solo something while i'm healing dragging rezing volley rallying my team to VICTORY!! (and still hitting consistantly for 700pts with my badass msl weapons)

the only downside to such an awesome group support template is i'm in tell hell cause everyone wants me in thier group.

While he is inacurate about his %, you are in la la land yourself as well. Sure, SL is a good profession when used right. I can ride a horse across my state as well, but its not the best way to do it, and I certainly wont settle for that. SL has a way to go before the abilities in it are up to where they should be. Stop settling for "okay". We spend the same SP as the other "uber" templates. It's not so much to ask that we be something in that ballpark at least. Its guys like you that slam on those that are frustrated with the profession that are dragging out our ever getting fixed. Devs come in here and see your posts and think its all fine when it is not all fine, and they need to fix us. When the devs admit they don't know what to do with us, the last thing we need is guys coming in her saying everyhting is fine. The devs don't need any encouragement in the feild of dismissing SL.

1. the devs don't come to the forums so thats moot

2. if they did the first thing they would see is some moron going "none of our specials work! nothing works! wha wha wha! we get nothing!!!". the dev might then say..."these guys don't need any fixes, they need to learn how to play their proffession! what a bunch of whiners!" and troll on back to the jedi boards.

i used to like the sl forum cause we kept it together even when everyone else was crying the sky is falling.there now seems to be a lot ofdabblers and respec sl.i guess it won't last too long. i'll be back sushi..
