Hello,
I just respeced one of my alts on another server to MCH, 0040 medic, and had enough points left for about half of pistoleer, I think it ended up as 4103 or something. I will work on finishing pistoleer and maybe pick up novice BH and maybe underhand shot if I decide to drop a box of medic.
Then I went shopping on the bazaar (love vendor search) for a few pets I like, including a Rancor, Gurreck, Kimogila and Brackaset for a mount.
I scanned all the stats listed in each case and ended up with pets in the 6200-7125 health with between 4200 and 4700 armor rating, and defense value of 120-152 and damage output of 358-399 max. A couple of times I opted for a pet with more armor rating and some less health, as I thought it was a good trade. But I really have nothing to base that on.
I spent the last couple of days reading the CH forum and checking the stickies, but haven't found any info on what to really look for and what is considered "good" in the new pet stats.
I plan on looking for a trio of female narglatches and hunting for some of the rare babies for fun. Back when I was a CH before I used to like having 3 Greater Sludge Panthers out, and of course I have always liked the Rancor and Gurreck. Never a big fan of Grauls, so none of them caught my eye yesterday while shopping.
Anyway, enough rambling, would someone be kind enough to point me in the direction of threads with this info or relate what you look for when picking out pets that you will use in combat?
Thanks,
Daakan (on Eclipse)

The following stats shift by the CL of the pet, so the only thing that affects it at all is pet level:
Armor
Defense
To-hit
And....something else
The ones which willvary by pet quality, the things you want to know, are the health, the damage, The health regen, and all those percentaged stats. In the BE crafting process, in order to maintain usability by CL, a BE will trade off health for damage, or damage for health, you wouldn't have, say, a 0 percentaged statted CL 70 with 8K health and 499 max damage, you'd have about either a 4.5K health 499 max pet, or a 7-8K health pet with much lower damage. 499 max damage is the cap in the process, if a pet is created beyond that, it either becomes higher than CL 70 or upon full growth you'll recieve an "Invalid stats, your pet is evil" message. Health regen doesn't seem to affect CL as much, (Or so I think, im no BE :/) but still takes experiment points, so you'd have to trade off more health regen for less damage/health. The highest I've seen health regen go is over 800, which seemed to be more to do with great DNA than experimenting in it, but I don't know if it's under a diminishing return system or not. A good average regen is in the 500-600s, but don't think that just because a pet's regen is 400 or something means it bad, they'll still regen away pretty fast.
