Thread: Higher CL glitch?
There are certainly bugs that allow you to get out extra pets. Using them is considered an exploit and I wouldn't recomend it.
There are also legitimate ways to do that, which is to have someone befreind pets to you. I'm not sure if you can still see who owns them like you used to. I used to loan my pets to my wife's characters fairly often. I've seen ch's in a group befreiend all the pets to one person for easy control, but it dosn't work well unless they all share the same commands.
I've also encountered rounding errors in pet levels such that you can go to CL 71, but that was a long time ago. And of course there were the stupid CL 0/1 pets that were actualy much higher level, but I beleieve they finaly got rid of those. I wouldn't be terribly suprised if they don't have some new pet bug. And of course imature pets are lower level, so it could have just been that they were not full grown yet.
If this is that same old bug as before, there are a number of ways to have more than the allowed number out. WAY back when, a friend and I were hunting dragonets. We were young and wimpy in those early days. He had a BE'd CL15 pet I'd made. He died and cloned but his pet remained with me. When he got out of the cloners he called his pet again. He ran back to find me and his pet waiting for him and his pet. You can call it an exploit but in some cases these pets are called without knowing the pet is already called.
I've seen people spam their pet call and end up calling more than the allowed number. I've seen people call pets at server boundaries that allowed them to call too many. I've seen creature handler and non-creature handler alike. The bug is very old. It doesn't surprise me at all, however, to find the bug still exists in some form or another.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

It's an exploit ... well calling three pets that total greater than 70 CL is for sure, but I know for aFACT that this "exploit" has been around for at least a year and a half without the DEVs fixing it so ... they must not care if we use it right??? Letting something go for that long sort of makes it ok to do by default right? Ah, I wish!![]()
All I know is, CSRs drop DJMs on people who grind on wookie world, and don't drop them in the middle of theed when people dupe their varactyls
Well, all I can say is that this "exploit" has been around for well over a year and has not been fixed but hey, remember Publish 18:
Creature Handler:
- Pets in groups now get their own special "pet" role icon
Man, I am really glad they did fix that! And I really feel like such an idiot because I never even noticed that game breaking bug about the icon ... well, that it was even broke!
/sarcasm off

The way to do it is to try store the mount from the taskbar, and then call the pets you want. Only thing is, the mount can't group and formation commands make it vanish!
I had 2 CL65 Varactyls out like this!

I think there should be a "statue of limitation" on these things. If the developers ignore a KNOWN "exploit" for more than a year, the "exploit" can no longer be called an "exploit" but simply becomes part of the normal game play tactics![]()
