Thread: Non-CH needs help with buying a Mount..help need plz.
You are going to love this...........
Creatures now have to be trained by a CH in order to growto get them to a size that can be mounted. For non-CH's you can only ride creatures that have CL 10 or less or BE'd Flumpasets or Dewbacks of CL 10 (as you noticed - the other BE'd creatures are the size of cats). So no non-CH Bantha mounts anymore.
In order to train the pet to get it to mountable size the CH has to fight with it so thecreature gains XPand "levels" until it is an adult, 8-10 levels to get to mountable size usually. Pets get XP just like characters and at CH 10 14200 XP are required for it to "level". So to train an adult non-CH critter the CH has to earn (i.e. kill mobs with the creature) about 142000 XP with it.
To give some idea of the work involved: XP scales to level of pet, so this equates to about 20 kills per level - so any mountable creature will have had to have participated in around 150decent kills(this can be substantially reduced using various "tricks", but CL10 pets aren't exactly killing machines and it still takes bloody ages).
The good news is that pets can again learn "specials" (Aggression, Knockdown, etc) and training gives the pet "slots" (3 for a BE'd CL10 pet, 4 for a wild tame CL10).
The bad news is that those CH's training non-CH mount pets charge quite a bit for them due to the sheer work involved in training the darned things (I charge 300K each for them and am seriously thinking of raising this to 500K). There are also very few CH's training non-CH pets (although I'm one of them!).
Hope that is at least slightly enlightening!

wow talk about a complete profession revamp...so when I look at the vendor how do I tell if its is a non ch mountable? look for a lvl 10 creature or look for one that is 300-500k in price? I hope there is more than just price to go by as 1/2 million credits is a hard lesson to learn.
thank again for the info
Don't buy the deed off a vendor - this is an"unborn"pet that can only be trained and tamed by a CH.
You will need to find a CH who will acquire and train the pet for you.A reputableCH will beable to weed out lemons and will probably have a stack of deeds from BE's on hand (I know I have). This is the person who will charge you several hundred thousand for the pet!
Your best bet will be to contact a CH direct. Be very clear that you understand that this service is likely to be expensive. Bad business practice I know, but every CH gets requests for mounts for which people will pay the princely sum of up to 5K (for many hours work!) - you can probablyunderstand how those are recieved! ![]()
Customers who have some idea of the work involved in making these things are very much appreciated!
