I haven't been a Creature Handler since the old Pokewars of '03. I just started an alt and she is now CH 1100. My question is How do I know when I've learned an ability from my pet? What menu is it under? Is it when I /train one of my pets I'll see that I can train them in them Abilty? etc etc
Also whats a good match with CH? I was MP/MS/Medicx22x/Artisanxx3x...Throw me some bones

To answer all your questions about learning pet specials, read the sticky at the top of the forum. It has everything you could ever need to know and then some.
I'm MCH/MPistoleer, with some BH thrown in. I find that it's a very effective combination.

If you have trouble finding the information in the sticky the short answer is:
Type /train with your pet targetted to see what skill he can learn.
Type /train with nothing targetted to see what skills you have learned.
When you learn a skill a system message will be displayed.
