Can anyone confirm whether or not these are still currently spawning babies? I got Master CH long before "The Patch (tm)" so I never bothered trying to tame any of the mid level critters. No im stuck finding and testing out new combinations of pets for different situations. Im currently looking for something to pair with a Gnarled Rancor and a cl 25 Bloodseeker Mite Queen would fit well. I just cant remember specifically if these made the endangered species list along with the Arachnaes and Frenzied Grauls.

So anyways, can anyone definately confirm they personally tamed A Bloodseeker Mite Queen (baby) in the last, say, 2-3 weeks? I'll probably be out on Endor tomorrow night bumping a few lairs regardless but would like to know if Im waisting my time or not. =)

Yup they spawn, but a regular bloodseeker mite is actually better.

They are still spawning, but are actually inferior to the Bloodseeker Mite. No ranged attack. Slightly lower resists (Blast Resistis lower). Same AR. Less HAM. Less damage. Lower to hit. Only a dizzy as opposed to the Bloodseeker Mite's dizzy+posture down. In PVP, it is the ranged attacks of the Bloodseeker Mites that are truly frustrating to be fighting against. Mind you the Queen is only 25CL, whereas the Bloodseeker Mite is 30CL.

I went up to grab a pair of Bloodseekers 3 evenings ago. My first tame was a Bloodseeker Mite Queen, which I briefly tried and then deleted in favor of what I was originally coming up to get.

Cheers,

Juba

A Gnarled Rancor (CL45)anda Bloodseeker Mite Queen (CL25) are an awesome duo. What makes the queen so attractive is the lower CL and only 10% less resists in the energy department. Other than a minor decrease in ham they are identicle to the regular bloodseeker mites. But with 2 queens you can call a gurreck charger or any other level 20 creature (gronda or the like).

I disagree that a Gnarled Rancor and Bloodseeker Mite Queen are good combo. Just because they happen to hit exactly 70CL is not the most important consideration when choosing pet combinations.

Sinceneither the GR and BMQ have a ranged attack, because the BMQ runs faster then the GR and because the BMQ is a lower CL, you will find that what ever you are attacking will tend to target the BMQ, and since most everything you are attacking will eventually switch to melee mode, the 5% KR on the BMQ makes it a very poor tank.

In PVP, the GR is not that great either, slow movement speed and large size make him easy to get stuck on buildings or trees/rocks if you are facing a smart player.

And you are incorrect, the BMQ has more differences then the Bloodseeker Mite, it does not have a ranged attack or a posture down move, both of which are potent in PVP. 2 Bloodseeker Mites are far better at distracting and harassing a PVP opponent then a GR & BMQ combo.

The better pet to pair with the GR would be a Gronda (1AR, 50% kinetic, 50% energy, 18'ish CL). The Gronda will be getting agro, and can mitigate kinetic damage better then the GR, and you will have the GR for its' damage output and dizzy/knockdown specials.

Cheers,

Ok, well the initial question I posed seems to have been answered in that yes, BSMQs do in fact still spawn babys.

To address those that compared the Queens to 'regular' BSMs, I do know the difference. Although I will admit I was under the impression the BSMQs used ranged attacks like the 'regular' mites and was interested primarily for this reason. I currently have 2 fully grown Bloodseeker Mites (Clovese and Scooter) that I use in tandum with my Arachnae webmasters (Gepp and T-Boy). This is by far my favorite pet combination I have found to use (aside from when I could call 2 AR2 Gurrecks and a Webmaster or 1 Gurreck and 2 Arachnae warriors... )

As I said originally though, I am looking for a pet to pair with a Gnarled Rancor so the 'regular' mites will not work due to CL limitations. Obviously I want the Rancor "tanking" and while I could use him by hisself, there is no reason not to find something viable to team up with to give some added damage. Someone mentioned the Gronda in passing, while Grondas are fairly nice critters especially for their CL, they would not be any more benefit to the setup I am trying to find than a melee'ing BSMQ.

Oh, and this pet tandum will be used nearly exclusively for PVE against harder type mobs (Dark Jedi, Krayt etc). I have other setups for PVP with slightly more...disposable...pets.

Dont listen to the nay-sayers Jabba...I love my Gnarled Rancor/Bloodseeker Mite Queen combo. They are fantastic when doing faction missions since the pets get hit with ranged weapons...which both pets have excellent resistances to. I can run 4 or 5 difficulty 50 missions with this pair before they hit the 50% ham mark.

If I am running missions against kinetic type mobs, I switch out the Bloodseeker Mite Queen for a Kliknik Defender...also a great combo by the way.

Sorry Juba let me rephrase, I spoke hastily. For PVP the Gnarled Rancor and Bloodseeker Mite queen are ideal. Their resists to almost every blaster type is very high. The Queen does have low kenetic but that will only come into play when against a melee class. Hope this clarified. I have never nor will I ever use a gnarled rancor-bloodseeker mite queen combo in pve. Thats just stupid.

Sorry forgot to add- Also good for NPC's with ranged weapons like stated in the above post. When facing kenetic only then no. NPC's and PVP yes.

I am no master yet butI would think a decent combofor a master if they are looking for something to team up with a CL 50 pet that is a Rancor and a Giant Veermok or replace rancor with any other one you want there. The stats on the Veermok is 6500 ham armor 1 20% to most all stats even kinetic and it is only CL 20 but dont spread that around cause they are one of my favorite pets .

A Gnarled Rancor along with anything is still inferior to a Toxic Merek Battlelord. The ranged attack, poison, and resists of a Toxic make them far more versatile than a full grown rancor. They also never run away, unlike so many pets.

Dual Bloodseeker mites are great for PVP as well.

The energy weakness on the Toxic just sucks tho. I swapped out my Gnarled Rancor on some faction missions, and those **edit** dirty rebels just tore up my Toxic...just ripped him apart. Course, I was incapped, so I couldnt help much...
