Thread: Possible problem with babies having abilities?

I have been taiming creatures all morning, and unfortunately, I have not found any babies with any special abilities. It has been like this the past few times I have gone out searching for new skills to learn.


Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Yeah. It took me 3 days to find a baby with marring storm L1 -I must of tamed 50 wrix babies and I dont know how many other creatures that supposedly had this ability.

sure have....I went over 150 tames without finding any abilities, I was taming low lvl stuff on the newbie planets when this happened to me so mavbe they lowered the ability rate on stuff under cl 20? after getting totally fustrated I headed to endor and had a L2 found in the first 3 tames there....so if you havent tried endor or dath. my advice is to head there

I've been taming on Dantooine, until a few weeks ago, I used to find a baby with an ability every 5-6 tames or so. It seems that the frequency has dropped to find a pet with a special ability. This is getting frustrating.


I've also got a small issue with the fact that I am a MCH, and I fail taiming a creature more often than not. This seems to be a bit off balance to me. I don't mean to whine, but I should not have this much trouble taming, let alone not be able to find any creatures with abilities.


As a side question, don't you need to have L1 of any ability before you can teach the level 2, ect?

yup....and with the low lvl babies being so hard to find with an ability I'm having a hell of a time finding some of the L1 stuff myself...hope we can get some feedback on this soon.....

Thing is... the critters I'm taming on Dant are natural spawns, cl 40 or above.


You're right, we need someone to notice this..

It seems the lower level critters have abilities less frequently then the higher level creatures do. This may be as a balance issue being as the lower level creatures seem to give up their abilities much faster then the bigger ones once tamed. Just a guess tho.

You have to teach a critter the level 1 ability before you can teach a critter level 2, etc. but you can learn the abilities in any order. You can learn a level 3 ability before you learn level 1 of the same ability.

I had a stretch three weeks ago where I tamed 50-100 kreetles without any specials, but this last week I had better luck than usual, 50% of babies tamed had a special (not the one I wanted, but still).
I guess it is just random chance, and you are just experiencing a streak of bad luck.
