Thread: Is the can't tame bug around still?

was about to tame a shear mite and boom, cant tame. Was able to tame 2 shear mite soldiers 20 minutes before and I still have plenty of room for pets.

Make sure you disable your auto attack before trying to tame. If the baby aggroes you and your auto attack is enabled it will cause the baby to no longer be tamable. This is a known bug that has beena round since the CU publish.

That's not it I tame from my speeder, and you 'can't' attack from a speeder and I still get this bug. Just change areas it is area related and from my experience creature related although sometimes changing species still doesn't work. But changing areas seems to work as a workaround.

Yes, this one is still cropping up.


Sio sees some non-aggro low levelbaby and attempts to tame it, gets the "you can't tame that" message. Walks 60m away to two other babies, aggro and higher level than the first, tames them both, then goes back to the first baby, and still gets the "you can't tame that" message. Spams tame fora minute and a half, no change at all.

How do you tame from your speeder? Do you mean you drive up, hop off, hit tame, hop back on and wait?


I didn't think you could issue the tame command whilest mounted.

Update: If the level 21 Grand Wrix made me laugh, then last night I was practically splitting my sides when I couldn't tame a level 2 Rill.


Definately nothing to do with creature type, as I walked over the next dune and tamed a different Rill. It may be based on lair - boththe grand wrix I attempted to tame were at the same spawn, and neither could be tamed. My theory is that the babies from some lairs are coming out with the adult flag on, thus meaning we can't tame them.

Had the same problem with a damn Kreetle yesterday. Will check what happens tonight when i log back on.

I am now absolutely convinced that this has something to do with server boundaries, at least some of the "you can't tame that" activity.


I'm on Corellia/Ahazi right now, moving south from the middle of the map towards Coronet. More than 2500m or so north of Coronet, the landscape is devoid of spawns except for mission spawns. Then at about the 2500m mark, all the sudden there are lairs, lairless spawns of various critters.


At that point I see a couple of slicehound babies, a giant spat baby, and a violent krabhu baby. Sio is 0400 CH with a +25 wild/vicious +10 CA taming bonus hat on, and can't tame a darn thing. He moves 100m or so to the south of this area, and bam, he tames a grand wrix baby and a corellian butterfly worker baby.

Im pretty certain server boundaries does not matter.



Yesterday i ran into two Worrt babies walking right beside each other (within 1 m). The one was tamable, the other was "Can't tame that". Only difference on the two was that the untamable one was slightly darker in color; not that I think that mattered



Pretty annoying bug. I get the message very often...
