Thread: Ranged attack... off?

My narglatch has ranged attack, and 57% kinetic resists, but is vulnerable to energy (blghlksg). She insists upon using her ranged attack most of the time, and it's aggravating. Anyway to turn it off?

The "Use Ranged" command should be working now.Try teachingit to the narglatch, and use it to toggle "Ranged Mode" on and off.

Is it a BE Narglatch? because Narglatches aren't supposed to have a ranged attack (that I know of). Unfortunately, unlike droids, there is no way of turning the ranged attack off....

Wasn't aware of that Vert, I'll have to try that with my Merek Cavern creeper, who is annoying when he uses ranged on sharnaffs instead of kinetic type attacks

yes, ranged attack does work, and when I teach my pets I teach them everything... but, it doesn't toggle.

/tellpet range

Ranged mode: ON

/tellpet range

Ranged mode: ON

or something of that sort.

maybe we should ask them that, although there are questions with a higher priority than that.

Argh, I was under the impression that had been fixed. Let me hop on Test Center and check my pets there.

I can confirm that this only gives the "on" message, even though it does seem to turn off. You just have to keep track of it yourself. Is kind of like using the radial menu to mount a bike and it says u are alreadyon it.

I only played for it a bit outside Coronet yesterday with some baby pets. They did seem to be turning it on & off on command, even though the message always displayed it was turned on.

maybe we could give TH a note along with our question to check the ranged attack stuff and autostoring (unless autosoring is the question).

Alright, cool I'll test that out myself.

I get the repeated "Ranged Mode: ON" messages every time I issue the command as well. But hey, at least it works the same on BE and non-BE pets now!

Yeah, just tried this out. It seems really flakey, though, in that the pet won't truly switch to true melee fighting. At least for me, it dashes up to the enemy... then continues using its ranged attack from point blank range. Strange and disturbing, this is.
