Hello, i have just recently caught 3 crimson razor cats.

They seem to be alot better then greater sludge panthers but when I talk about a crimson razor cat to someone.... they have no clue on what i'm talking about....

Is that pet really rare, or is it just one of the pets that seem to have slipped through the cracks?

I need to know because I need to know how much there worth so that i can sell them.

If you would like more info about this creature, go to this link: http://www.swgcreatures.com/detail.asp?creatureID=90

They're not incredibly rare. I'd say they're about on par with grand wrixes in terms of availability. I see them pretty commonly on the eastern coastline (Especially around the Corsec Base), and they produce babies somewhat commonly once found. I think you could probably sell them for a bit to a Creature Handler who didn't really know where to look forthem or didn't want to spend the time, but you can get a much better BE pet with a lot less effort.

I'd say it'scertainly a betterpet to havethan a grand wrix or a greater sludge panther, but not much of a saleable commodity to anyone other than the rare few who want it simply because it's a big cat. I have two I keep for myself just because they make a nice-looking pair. Come to think of it, I did all of Jabba's missions with that pair while riding on the back of a carrion spat. Then again, I'm one of those rare few who wanted them simply because they were big cats. =)

You never know, though. You could probably sell sand to a jawa if you shouted loud enough and long enough at the Coronet starport. I wish you the best!

Not very rare, and probably not worth very much to anyone with lots of credits.

No, not terribly rare. Just difficult to tame, especially with all those mask-scent breaking female razor cats lurking about, getting all whoop-ass on CHs trying to catnap their babies.

Since the great nerf of pub 5, they are superior tanks to GSPs and grand wrix, though. If you like large cats, CRCs are good ones.

As far as I know, they are quite rare.

Anyone else have something to add on the matter?

**Edit**

Erm, I think that's actually crimson sand cats or something that are rareish. Not sure about razor cats, myself.

I would not consider thema rare spawn. They are common in certain locations (the shores of the NE sea). I have never had any problem finding them in that area.

I wou;dn't call them rare at all. I have three and use them often. Whenever they take too much vitality damage, i go find another one without any trouble. Wonderful pets.

Try grabbing a couple of Greater Sludge Panthers from Talus...they're a bit mor hardier. Crimson deal more damage but have less protection. (from what I remember) Ihad one when i was still a novice but never really used it much. I miss the old days when GSPs were only lvl 23. Having three big cats out at once what pretty cool.

Actually, Crimson Razon Cats and Greater Sludge Panthers have the same kinetic resistance at 35%. Crimson Razor Cats also have 35%energy resistance (25% more thanGSPs), 500 more health, 2 more ferocity, and do 70 more damage than Greater Sludge Panthers.

They're pretty comparable, really, though the Crimson Razor Cats are definitely better against NPCs. Still, the extras you get from the Crimson are paid for with 4 extra difficulty levels (DL 29 for Crimson Razor Cats, 25 for GSPs).

As far as specials, GSPs have a posture down attack, whereas Crimson Razor Cats have stun and dizzy. Since you likely will be using a stronger pet by the time you can command specials to be used, however, the effect of these attacks is mediocre. Both are decent for their difficulty levels, but neither compares to a well-made BE pet of the same level. That's just the reality we live in these days.

from my experience, if you know where to find them (just like all other creatures) and their babies arent rare, then you shouldnt have much trouble at all. but if you are unaware of where they tend to spawn, then that could make it alot harder on you

As an afficionado of the big Corellian cats, I'd agree with this assessment. I find CRCs well suited to dealing wtih NPCs, and felt that way before pub 5. Since pub 5 they are superior tanks to GSPs, but when GSPs had 60% kin resist they were the ideal critter hunting companion.

But the reality is that if you're geting these pets for combat alone, BE pets are a better bet than wild, as Nhari eloquently states.
