Would be worth a laugh seeing some noob being eaten alive by a kreetle.

Really? I thought it was kreetles...maybe it was nunas.....damn, it's been so long sense I pulled those stunts that I can't remember. Probably was nunas (the dwarf variaty) Kreetle probably got stuck in my head, cause first tame I had was a kreetle.

How could your first tame be a kreetle if the novice box or even the 1xxx box cant tame aggressive creatures?

My first 2 boxes of CH were done all with fighting using a BE Gurrcat a friend gave me. I didn't tame anything untill I was 1001.

I love to have my pets run around with my in cities and whatnot, and I get a lot of /tells asking me for Non-CH pets, usually mounts. Thing is, they want everything FREE. No, it doesnt cost anything to catch a pet. How about my time? My efforts? All the work into acquiring CH boxes...

Im not even asking for a lot of money for training, mounting, taming etc. I just want a few credits just so I dont feel so insulted by all the people wanting freebies. People ask me to catch them for a dewback to ride. I say its going to cost them for example 5K. "No way man, its not even worth that much." But then they come back and say they bought a non-CH BE mount for 20k+ and ask for me to train it. I dont get it. I say pay me a couple grand for the mounting and training...of course they wont pay! They can go to any CH and get it trained for free.

Can all of us CHs get together and stop doing things for free? Again, its not about the money for me...its more about the principles! We deserve to make credits just like anyone else...Ban together and stop giving away freebies! The only exception I can see is giving away free useless pets like kreetles or something like that.

Yes, as a CH I have made money, but in reality, that money doesnt even directly relate to being a CH at all. I use the scout pre-requisite and my carbine skills coupled with my pet-tanks to harvest hide/bone/meat. Thats it...

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? Try and be constructive and not flaming.

There's someone on here who keeps kreetles, fully grown and trained with everything except "attack". He transfers them to anyone asking for a free pet.

I've started with the trading option . . . if they ask me for a free pet I ask them to give me their weapon for free. They let me know what their uber weapon is worth (invariably) and I tell them its not worth that much to me, but my time for getting the CH boxes so that I can train pets that they are asking me to give them is worth coincidently just that amount they quoted.

Funny thing is I give away pets all the time to people who don't ask.

I must say, Im guilty of this also. An image designer who did a stat migration on me was very nice. In turn, I gave her a level 10 cat I had of some form and named it after her. Also, when people ask me for pets then proceed to offer a decent sum of credits usually gets the pets for free if they were being very nice to me.

Even still, it shouldnt be assumed that Im going to give you a free pet. If I had more free datapad space, Id carry around a few kreetles as well.

Maybe we could form some sort of an intergalactic (inter-galaxy server) creature handlers union. If everyone got together, we could form some kind of pricing structure. Then would wouldnt have to worry about price undercutting and what not.

I saw people talking about that BEAST CH only guild...It could be like that, only on a bigger scale (inter-galactic). We could monopolize the pet world. After all, even BE pets still need training.

Illusions of Grandeur? Maybe...

Its a game wide thing. There are always moochers out there who just want free stuff and don't want to pay for it. No matter what profession tag I have up people ask me for something from my profession. Most offer some payment or trade of some kind but some just want give a ways, and those are also the ones who are impatient to wait for a moment while you make it or get supplies, and who are likely to insult your porfession somehow. I've even had people try to steal from me when I was firs starting (sadly they were trying to steal bone armor of all things..)

I give lots of stuff away, so long as folks are nice and it didn't realy cost me anything. When I wear my CH tag I get lots of other folks offering me free pets out of the blue. Getting paid for taming is a lot like doctors and dancers getting paid for the occasional heal or BF healing. Its more about your time and convineince than expense.

The problem with price setting is twofold . . . first server economies are vastly different, so setting a price might be very bad for one server and very cheap for another server. The other side of it is there's always someone who will undercut someone else, especially if they are making a good deal of money in another fashion. A CH/Ranger, to give an example, would probably want to charge one price, while a CH/Combat would probably charge a lower price to get the animals out of their datapad so they can go cback to missions which ultimately net more.

Who said the proposed price structuring couldnt also take into account what server you are on?

Also, doctors just so happen to make a TON of money for doing relatively little work once acheiving mastery. Buy buff packs, stand in a starport and watch the lines form!.

For example, I have been looking for lesser dewbacks FOREVER and I cant find any! Ive looked all over the place, and not run across any. Funny, because while I was looking for the lesser dewback baby, I ran across TONS of the so called uncommon wasteland CuPa baby spawns in my travels. By the time I actually caught the lesser baby dewback, Ill want to charge 300k for the d9mn thing just because it took so long!

LOL, I had something similar, I passed tons of malignant squills while looking for my wasteland. I didn't care, I just wanted my wasteland, damn it!

Do what the weaponsmiths do. Tell people outrageous stories. You will be shocked by what people will beleive. Tell people stuff like they will need to take that pet you gave them to get vaccinated by master doc or it will die in a couple days. Another good one is to give a person two identical pets, and tell them in a few days they will get babies they can give to their friends. Tell them they will need to get a pet maintanance kit for their data pad otherwise the pet will come down with bumblefoot, and wont be able to fight. give them a bird and tell them to remember to give the eggs it lays to a chef. Tell them that they will need to milk that pet daily.

The number one favorite of mine. Is to fully train a pet with farfetched commands. Stuff like me chinese, and imsick, and canuspare acredit. You just gotta be cool about it. Telling a beggar not to beg dosent work, because too many people feed them. Makeing them look idiotic is great though. No reason to get down about beggars just give them rotten service. After all its not the fact that we arent getting much that bothers us its the selfishness and the lack of effort by others.

If you cannot get some appreication from someone then playing a practical joke atleast will put a smile on your face.
