I'm not anti-Jedi, I'm just anti-any class that has no counter. I am also very happy about the recent CM changes, but they need to go further (like remove multiple same type stacking like they did to commando.) I think that with a way to get around Jedi, like adding thesecreatures to the tameable fauna, would go a long way to provide that counter. Yes Jedi are very powerful, and I don't think they should be nerfed, but I do think that there should be a way to kill them, other then by bringing two full groupsfor each guardian you see.

I'm not saying that you're anti-jedi, I'm saying that this would be a nice way to combat Jedi...

To the original poster. All I can say is, 5 big fat stars for you, friend.

I just can't believe I didn't think of that. LOL

The ysalamari could be worn by an MCH in groups for PvP, and have a range depending on their size.

Just a historical note: ysalamari were originally introduced in the Thrawn trilogy books, they were described as being organic but more like vine-like, slug-like parasites that clung to things like trees, rocks, etc. As time went on, and more books were written, they took on the iguana-like look they have today.

Brilliant post. Brilliant idea.

Creature Handlers should be able to get ysalamiri as pets. Not BE craftable...just natural tames.

This was posted in my server forum, and I thought that you guys would be able to give a more informeddiscussion then the whiners of Chilistra (and we have many myself included sometimes.) I think its a great idea, and would be one step in the right direction for solving two problems, CH's not being a viable PvP profession, and the recent infestation of Jedi.

Here is the origional post.

Here is a snippit on them from Starwars.com

Sessile tree-dwellers from the obscure planet of Myrkr, the ysalamiri are among the most bizarre creatures of the galaxy. As part of a defensive mechanism that protects them from Force-sensitive pack animals called vornskrs, the ysalamiri have developed the unusual ability to "push back" the Force.

Ysalamiri are small, furry salamander-like creatures no larger than 50 centimeters long. Their long claws grow directly into the cores of the branches they inhabit, drawing nutrients from the mineral-rich trees. It takes special knowledge to successfully remove an ysalamiri from a branch without killing it.

A single ysalamiri creates a bubble in which the Force cannot be manipulated. In groups, the size of the bubble increases. Vast areas in which the Force cannot be used cover Myrkr.

Five years after the Battle of Endor, Grand Admiral Thrawn used ysalamiri in a cunning plan to topple the New Republic. Imperial engineers fashioned a special nutrient frame that allowed ysalamiri to be transported and kept alive once removed from the trees.

Thrawn used the ysalamiri in order to secure the allegiance of Dark Jedi Joruus C'baoth. With ysalamiri in place, Thrawn would have a distinct advantage over Force-sensitives like C'baoth, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa Solo. Thrawn also discovered that strategically placed ysalamiri employed in Spaarti-based cloning chambers eliminated the clone madness caused by the disruption of identical Force patterns inherent in Spaarti clones. By using ysalamiri in his vast cloning facility in Mount Tantiss on Wayland, Thrawn was able to grow adult clones in a fraction of the recommended time.

What do you guys (and gals) think about this?

5 stars!!

To keep from "ruining" the time line (won't go into Geonosians/Battle Droids/etc...:smileytongue that's why these should be MCH ONLY, quest based and NON-tradeable. I love this idea and as stated before it would give people a reason to want to hunt w/CH's again.

even though it does take a little away from the "timeline," which has been butchered so bad its not even a guildline any more, I think these should be given as pets, not wearable items. This would give the Jedi a chance to defend themselves. If Iwas wearing one of these, it would be near impossible for a Jedi to give himself a fighting chance, and that would be overpowering, however if these were pets, then there would be the ability for the Jedi to incap the pet, and run away, or stand and fight. This would make it a balanced ability, which is why I think it is something that could be effectively put in the game. Now I KNOW Jedi will say that they can be used for griefing, but then again, isn't the Jedi that follows me around and kills everything I pull griefing me?? I think this is a workable idea that could provide MCH's a reason and a means to get involved in the GCW.
