i was thinking that since some senior community members get a bit grumpy over players posting threads advertising pets for sale, wouldnt it be a good idea to have a sticky at the top of the page where people could post links to current auctions/sales they have running on individual galaxies? what do you think?

Naah, probably just easier to use the relevant trade forum for your server.

Having said that I don't check the trade forums very often, but I daresay there are quite a few who check them regularly...?

I look at the trade forums frequently and in the space of mere minutes things are bumped, posted, replied and on page 2 or 3 from where you were just looking at a post. Sometimes its not that fast, others its pretty danged fast. It seems natural that those who are looking for pets to buy to come look here. I am thinking that a sticky for those Looking to Buy/Sell Pets couldn't hurt anything. If the post gets put into the below general section it can get locked with a request note to use the sticky.

I would say trade forums or in game via the auction tab....i use that alot on my server and I have sold many items...it may help you out a bit.

But i personally dont think there is anything wrong with folks coming here asking us for pets on a server...as long as it doesnt knock down good posts
