Hey guys,

I was looking to play my CH to farm for crystals for my alt which is a jedi.

I like CH because it's fun. i just want to know if there is anyways possible, thata Master CH can take out a ns Elder?

If so what would be my 2nd profession? Right now it's Master TKA.

Any ideas greatly appreciated in advance. Thanks.

with the right tactics - yes, but its going to have more to do with your other profession than creature handler

1) depends on your other profession(s).
2) depends on your personal tactics.
3) hawtpants might help.

if you're a TKA, using pets that do kinetic damage... you might want to check the resists on your targets. add peko peko albatrosses to your wish-list of solo content, too.

I am a MCH, master swordsman, master brawlerand i have soloed 2 NS elders in my time. THe only thing a pet is useful for is status effects in my book, as the Elders are 100% kinetic resist (unless it has changed). I usually pull out a pet that blinds or poisons and maybe some other effect that i can't produce, ie blind.

it can be done... just takes patience

You can use the pet to control the mob(harder if it's humanoid - they tend to ignore those pathetic pets) and to soak up damage.

So for taking on NS's you will be looking for a tough tank rather than a damage-dealer.

You will have to do the damage. pets just can't dish it out enough (like the others said).

Sure if you happen to be a MRM with brandy and spamming conceal shot.

Then you don't even need those pets

my 13k Ham lev 70 guf drolg lasted 5-6 hits against an elder, i didnt heal him and my Guf drolg didnt manage to spam Intimidation on her. I didnt see the weapon she was wielding, but my AR1guf drolg has 52% kinetic 51% energy, most others around 80% and blast vuln + 24%acid and stun. So i'd say, not really useful, unless you manage to pull your pet back from her after spamming intimidate or whatever state you want.

I've done this once....and was lucky. After reading what someone else put down I went out and used 2 cats I got, Both BE. One a Razor Cat and the other a Gurreck. The Razor Cat had Poison/Dizzy and the Gurreck had KnockDown/Desease.

I stood back for the most part and healed the pets till the NS was down to about half, then I joined in on the action. And for the most part, it worked pretty good.

You have to know, however, this was during the time that they were not using force choke and force lightning too.

I think the tim eit would take a CH to kill an elder would not make it worth it. You usally have to kill allot of elders to get anythign good. And the best thing against elders is a SWORDSMAN not a rifleman, check there energy res's and then look at there blast res's

possible yes... get your pets substats buffed (don't store them)... also use two cl 35 pets, thet way you can cycle them out... with MRifle or MSwordsand medic you coud do it... the only useful status effects would be disease/poision and intimidate... it will take time though...

I can just see a "Wait for the Combat Revamp" and "Wait for the Smuggler Revamp" quote all rolled into one.
