First off, this is not a flame, yet rather somewhat of a guilde about buying items from a vendor. Yes, I know it sounds stupid.......See what you want, and buy it, heh, but! Here's my story. I logged in for the first time in a couple months, reading about Tivo's Bull Rancor Baby hunt intrigued me, so I figured what the hell.

So anyway, I'm at the starport in Theed and I do a shout about getting some BE clothing to enhance my taming skills, and some guy sends me a WP to a BE shop. He proceeds to tell me that there's a backpack there usually for sale with everything in it I need. I get to the shop, see a backpack that says taming gear something or another, and it also says for so and so. (someone's name)

So I'm thinking, **edit**? It's a vendor, I'm sure they meant it was MADE by so and so, or has the stats equivalent to so and so, and I buy it. There's nothing in it, so I e-mail Sergia, the owner of the shop, and ask her to make the items for me please. Later that night, I get a nasty message calling me a thief, a liar, and all sorts of other nasties. I try to explain what happened, and I get insulted again, eventually I put them on ignore, as there are occasionally small children around. Try as I did, there was no reasoning with this person, and they refused to make me the items too, and of course they get the illgotten cash (which I could really care less about). I don't know if it's a scam, or if this person regularly puts items on vendors for specific people, yet are open to be bought by the public.

Anyways, just a simple warning. Once again, not a flame against the store owner, I'm sure they meant well, and I was there "wrong place wrong time". Just be weary if you buy something with someones name on it. You might get ripped off and not get any items. Although I don't know why they don't just hand it to the person, but hey, that's me

Might be a death blow for some guy who doesn't have a lot of money, it was only like 140k credits, so didn't really bother me much.

Sounds like you made a mistake (either through ignorance or stupidity) by buying special orderitems that were made for someone else. Artisans have to go through a lot of work sometimes to produce special orders, and to have someone buy it that it was not intended forwould not only irritate the shop owner, but her customers.The vendor system is not set up to protect special orders, so they are put up and identified for the intended buyer on the honor system. You violated that honor system. In some peoples eyes that would make you a thief. Some shops have vendors for special orders only, some shops don't.

It's too bad you pissed off Sergia, I have never seen her mad though. She is one of the finest marketers of bio-enhanced clothing and I have never seen or heard of anything unethical she has been involved in. Quite to the contrary, she is known for giving out free items for finishing off outfits.

Good luck shopping in the future, but stay clear of anything with someone elsesname on it. Also read any vendor instructions the shop owners may put up, that could save you some headaches too.

I thought it was common knowledge that if you see a pack on a vendor with someone elses name on it, it's not meant for you.

I guess it's a good tip to post somewhere for those who don't know.
