just received the newest prima JTL/SWG guide..it has all the creatures in the game listed , and the %age (spwan rate of babies)of all the tamables..interestingly the lair bosses are listed as tamable, most at 5%, the same as the great plains stalker..the ultimate rare is the frenzied graul at .01% or one in 10,000, followed by the bull rancor at .1 or one in a thousand..third interestingly enough appears to be the merek death's head @ .5%..if anyone has any specific questions about the listings..post here and i will do my best to answer..it seems that the best chance for anything is 25%, and it seems a lot of creatures in your datapad are one in four shots..many of the "rares" range from 20% to 15% to 10% to 5% and then 1% and the fractionals..never heard mention of a "minor gorax" before..lol..around 130k ham.sounds like fun

Hmm, that is interesting. To my knowledge, those are the first hard numbers we've seen from a semi-official source on actual taming percentages. 0.01% sounds pretty consistent with actual frenzied graul baby sightings (which yeah,it pretty muc goes without sayingseem too faron the low side at this point).

wanted to quote a passage from the description of the Ch profession:
"The ch profession is one of the most unique profesions in the game, drawing all its power from acquistion and use of SWG's vast array of creatrures. neither a combat or crafting profession , it is more of a support profession that enhances the character's other trades. for example reaching ch requires you to kill and skin animals, which in turn usually requires some form of combat profession. once you've got your pets, you'll find that in the beginning they are not much for combat on thier own, relying on you to do the lion's share of the fighting.....
.....when it comes to what pets to use there are 2 types of ch's: those that focus on the creature and those that focus on the handler. the ones the focus on the creature are more creature tamers. to them, the greatest challenge is finding the rarest of the babies and risking life and limb to tame and raise it. this player spends a lot of time alone in the wild. with mask scent up and working through spawn points. trying to find the perfect spawning spot for an elusive baby. the players who focus on handler are the ones who see pets as tanks and support tools, and purchase their pets from BE's. these type of pets can make the most powerful pets in the game- far more powerfull than anything that can be tamed naturally. this allows ch's to get exactly the the pet and statistics he or she wants without having to sit in the rain waiting for a baby to spawn. these are 2 seperate approaches. neither is better, for both work extremly well for the players who enjoy them....."
thought those passeges kind of said it well...what kind of ch are you..i am mostly the "tamer" type, but i have a couple specifiaclly designed BE pets..fot me most of the enjoyment of ch came from being out alone hnting and finally getting what i was looking for..
