Hi, I recently bought 2 BE Kimo's and I have not been able to name them. I can train them in all commands and they work fine, but they just won't take a name. I can name and rename my other pets.

Sounds like you're trying to give them names that the name filter doesn't like. You won't get any error message or feedback in this case... the pet just won't learn the name.
The filter is very picky about titles (Sir, Count, King, Duke, Princess) and any kind of proper name from Star Wars continuity (Han, Yoda, Lando, Xizor). This includes using a name as part of a larger word ("Chandler" would not be allowed because it contains the subword "han") and names of obscure characters (like Corde, the handmaiden decoy who gets killed at the beginning of Episode II).
[edit: mixed up my handmaidens]

Thanks for the tip Vertexon...btw..something I forgot to ask in my original question, are numbers allowed? For instance, I was trying to name my level 58 kimo K58, but when that wouldn't work I tried Killer...neither worked.

Yeah, numbers are not allowed in pet names. For droids either, which is something I believe the Droid Engineer community has wanted to see changed for a while.

However you can do GK-FourEight or something as that's what our servers RP stormies do for their names.

I have this naming problem with my kimo too. I triedseveral names and it didnt change. I sent in a ticket and they said "you cant put hyphens in pet names".
So now my BE kimo is just called "a kimogila" now.

So Kzera-za, maybe this is an issue with BE Kimo's and not necessarily the names we are trying to use? I'll open a ticket too and see what I get asa response...

Both my Kimos (Thug and Spikey) were named without any trouble. Sometimes my pets don't accept their names, but it's a simple case of store them, bring them back out and use a different, valid name.

If I ever get to the point where I can tame a kimo, I want to name him Baby Kimogila so when he's full grown, people will look at him and say, "HOLY CRAP!!! THAT'S a BABY?"
