can anyone tell me who has this template how you fight with your pets in PvE now? like is it hard worrying about a BH commin up all of the sudden and db'ing your pet? if you dont tell the pet to attack can the BH attack it? im working on FS trees right now but this has got me alittle worried. im quite attached to my pets and have a couple rares as well. plus ill be playing with one of my friends whos working on jedi as well so ill more then likely get on the boards. anything you can tell me on how to do both professions would be apprieciated.

Jedi Initiate costs 250 skill points.......so I don't think you can be a Jedi/MCH. My understanding was that when you have the ability to take the Jedi Initiate tree, that a second slot would open for you to use on your server. I know that I, for one, will be starting a new MCH.....only this time I'll be taking the wookie path instead of the Zab path.

Initiate cost you 24 FS points not 250!!! Don't know where you heard that!!!

You can be Master Sabers and MCH with a handful ofSP left over.

In the old Jedi system, once you unlocked your Jedi character, the Initiate box cost 250 skill points. This basically forced you to dedicate your Jedi character to being a Jedi. It also had the unfortunate side effect of preventing any Jedi from getting Jedi App points, since all Jedi skills cost no skill points to train. Hence why no one could achieve the Jedi Master title (required Jedi App points).

So, that's where they heard that

The new Jedi system, as stated above, requires that you spend 24 skill points in Force Sensitive skills (MUST have 6 level 4 boxes filled). Then you can be done with the Village, kill Mellichae and his henchmen, and start your Padawan Trials. Halfway through the Padawan Trials, you receive your Jedi Initiate title and get to build your first lightsaber. Once the Padawan Trials are completed (16 of them) you are officially a Jedi Padawan, and can start training in lightsaber skills - and you unlock your 2nd character (your main is now your Jedi, NOT your unlocked second character slot).

Regarding using your pets with your Jedi, well I'm afraid to tell you that pets of any sort (droids or animals) actually will give you visibility and make you get on the terminals pretty quickly, unless they're grouped, in which case they'll give you 25% of the usual visibility. I'm guessing this happens because some pets are factional NPCs, and they just put the code in to generate visibility from all pets.

You would be wise to fight with your lightsaber, and only that, to maximize your Jedi xp initially. Fight alone, and away from all NPC's and players before equipping your saber. You most definitely want that Novice Lightsabers box BEFORE any visits from a Bounty Hunter. I made 15k Jedi xp in about 1 hour of combat after only Novice Lightsaber. Without Novice Lightsaber, it took me 2 to 3 buff sessions to get to 20k Jedi xp. Your damage with a saber goes from roughly 300 (on a good hit with Novice Brawler's Berserk1) to about 1500 to 1900 damage when you get Novice Lightsaber. So, whether you end up using your pets or not, be sure keep 'em stored until you get Novice Lightsaber.

Hope that clears a few things up.

but if i dont tell the pet to attack can the BH attack my pet?? if not i dont care if a swarm of them are on my @ss and i die a horrible bloody death as long as my pets are safe

and is there anyone who has actually done this template that can tell me how they like using their pets with jedi?

Wrong wrong wrong wrong...

Sorry Warryyr, that's incorrect.

Faction NPCs probably do give visibility (never tested it), but creatures DO NOT give visibility. I'm currently MCH, sabers 0044, healing 4004, and enhancement 0002. I hunt regularly with my pets (sometimes grouped, sometimes not). I've never been on the terms. Same withmy best friend who is also a jedi/MCH.

DO group with your creature pets and do hunt with them. Not only do you get an xp bonus for being grouped, they can tank for you and make the grind much easier at lower levels- because as a novice jedi, you'll take a beating if you get all the aggro.

My favorite example: running around endor at 0044 sabers and killing an entire lair of arachne queen/widows unbuffed, because my pet had all the aggro from the 5 arachnes and I just stood behind him and did AoE saber attacks without taking a scratch.

MCH/jedi is a great PvE combo (just like MCH + anything), but it has the same weaknesses in facing BHs as it does in general PvP (so just stay off the boards, and you'll have no problem). A BH encounter is just like being tef'd with a faction flag and then being attacked by an overt of the opposing faction, all the same rules apply- so yes, your pets could be attacked just as your bike can be. It's just like it is in regular PvP.

Been toying with this idea as well for quite some time.

As for the visibility. I believe Kitoth is correct based on the data writeups in the Jedi forum so pets can still be your best friend and comrades in arms as a Jedi.

CritterControl... incap does not clear you from the boards. Only a deathblow. You will lose xp because of the deathblow due to being a BH mission- however, you can avoid the additional xp loss from cloning by havinga doc resurrect your corpse. Once you've been deathblown, you're off the terms (in theory).

So yes, you could have a friendly BH take your mission, DB you, have a doc rez, and you'll be free and clear. You're going to lose the xp anyway, may as well share the bounty witha friend and get it over with under controllable conditions. Better than having to constantly run and hide from unfriendly BHs who may do nasty things to you (camp your corpse to prevent you getting rez'd, having a group member DB you so they can keep killing you, triple incapping you forcing you to clone and lose xpand then getting you again in the cloner, etc).

I plan to get on the terms eventually- just because I want to do things that give visibility. I'll probably wait till I'm strong enough to take on BHs if I choose, but there will probably be times when rather than put up with the harassment, I'll just have a friendly BH get it over with so I can play without the grief for a while.
