Creature Handler Archive

I made a post last week out of frustration titled "my worst day as a master creature handler" brought on by a nightmarish outing on the riverlands of Corellia. To make a long story short, I had a Great plains stalker baby poof on me during a taming attempt. Today during my daily routine of checking my hotspots for any red cons, I happened across a GPS adult basking in thecorellian sun. With no expectations, I climbed off of my speeder and called on my trusted companion Shizkitty (my BE supercat) and waged an epic battle againsttheundisputed king of the corellian plains.After fighting off three adultGPS stalkers, my hope of finding their cub was fading (GPS babies are known to be the 3rd spawn). I dusted myself off and waited for the last of them to test my mettle in a final battle.With no warning, I heard a rustling in the tall grass; Ireadied my rifleonly to find a smallgreen blip on my radar screen. Iquickly disarmed, and dispatched Shiz. I went in slowly to gainthe baby'strust. I was amazed at the lack of fear, anda killer instinct far superior than anything I have come across in the wild. Being a tried and proven veteranin the art of creature handling I tamed him on the first try.

I was correct on my last postwhen I said that when I do finally tame a GPS baby, it would be that much sweeter; and it was. And to feel the same excitement as when I tamed my first coveted pet reminds me how rewarding this profession is.

To all of the CH's having trouble finding that elusive rare that seems to be avoiding you especially.Do not getdiscouraged.Keep looking! That baby is out there waiting for you, and you will look back and think that it was all worth it. Trust me

Congrats! I'm very very jealous. Since the spawn rates increased, I've been on a mission to tame one. 24 spawns down and no baby so far. I'm curious how long it took other people?

Also, I've had something happen to me on 2 occasions- the spawn only had 3 creatures instead of 4. This happen to anyone else? At first I figured it was just the game being it's usual jerk-off self, but then I got to thinking and wondered if maybe there was only 3 was because the first spawn was a baby that got itself killed somehow. It also made me realize that if I were to drive by a baby, I'd likely never know it given that I just look for the telltale red dot/red circle.
