what I want to know is, why can't we as CHsget the same love?

the only thing they've done for us post-nerf at all is fix a horrible bug that shouldn't have been there in the first place.

people are moving to WoW in droves and MxO (Matrix Online) will surely take away alot more. Even in Beta, it appears to be many many times less buggy than Galaxies. Hell, the biggest gripe the testers have is the fact that males have female names and vice versa. That's it. Oh and slow servers, but all MMO Betasget that.

Servers have indeed become much more sparse. You only need to look at the server selection screen to find that out, where only one server showed up as 'Medium' population last time I looked, the rest 'Light'.

yes marlon it does seem odd the deves were soooo concerend that people were making solo group money, the within a few weeks give away multi million credit items (vet rewards)to flood the trade forums ..i cannot pull a 36k mutant rancor mission as that "extra" money is destroying the economy, yet i sold an r2-d2 action figure for 1.2 mill the other day...kind of sending mixed messages there devs.....

1. Free resource kits ..... it will cripple the rare resource prices

2. More rare resource spawns .... it will cripple the rare resource prices

3. Global search from vendor .... it will create an enormous competition .... i wonder how it will influence the merchants as profession ....

4. Increased Krayt spawns .... much more pearls/tissues etc ... will drop the prices....

And then all the other things .... decreased wait-times .... increased storage .... decrease of lots .... what's going on ? Why the loving ?

They always said that it was technically not possible to increase item storage, due to load.....does that mean we lostmany players ? Or is it anattempt tostop players from switching to other MMORPGS ?

1) Free resource kits, one hit wonder, zero effect on the economy, hardly crippled.

2) More rare resource spawns will bring prices down, but will hardly cripple anything. Good for the population as a whole. I might be able to find t21s more often lol.

3) Global bazaar will not cause competition, already had that ability, just not default. Now it is default, no effect.

4) the krayt spawns have not changed prices on the better tissues, the weaker ones are worthless, but nicer tissues in good quantity seem to be hard to come by (after 20+ krayts the otehr night, tons of pearls, zero good tissues). Pearls drop like mad, so it will help jedi get pearsl easier it seems.

The effect on economy will be reduced prices over time, however more people will be able to afford the goods and services that never profited from these goods and services before upping consumption.

I am glad to see someone thinking about this game in economic terms though, so 5 stars for you.

Hehe .... thanks for trashing my post

Just kidding, it is obvious i don't know much about economics, but when i saw all these changes they are doing ..... it was just a ...feeling i got...

1) I saw on the trade forums that good quali resource prices have dropped .... dunno if it is much ... and you are right .... it is a one time thing ..... though a doc with 30K good avian will be provided for a while ....

2) It will influence the prices .... i can't make any estimation of how big or minor the impact will be ..... depends on the number of suppliers .... and thedemand ....

3) I thought this is new .... still in testing ?? check this post http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/content.jsp?page=Galaxy-wide%20Vendor%20Search

4) Not yet .... it slowly floods the market, and slowly decreases the demand ... that will influence the prices .... maybe a bad example, but i don't understand the thinking behind this decission ....

Ofcourse there is a LOT ofmoneyin the economy .... they need a way to get rid of some of that .... that will stabilize prices...

My 2 cents from a not even amature economic .....

Not trashing at all, I am glad to see that folks get that about the game, the economic aspect of it I mean. I would wager that an economist would LOVE to anayze this game as a study in economics. I would also bet that it would be a good idea for SOE to get an economist involved in their future design plans.

I gave you 5 stars all the way here pal.

3) and you are right, this is sort of new, but before you could just select the entire galaxy as a whole, you just had to travel a bit to pick up the item. The effect will be, that you will be able to put something up for sale ona vendor anywhere and buy it from anywhere else. Or at least that is my understanding, it will aid the bazaar trade I bet, but the cap is stil 6k. Thinking the net sales of merchants wont be affectred that much.

4) oh and you may absolutely be righ,, what I was trying to say is the tissues seem to spawn less, that may be me, but yes if they spawn at the normal rate, for sure the prices will come down.

I would love to do the financials for this economy.

There is a big difference in solo gorups and selling your vet rewards. When solo grouping was popular millions of credits were comming into the economy a day while only a small porton was leaving which caused a massive ammount of inflation. Now since the solo group nerf people have stopped bringing new money into the economy via missions andhave turned to new ways of making cash like loot whoring, harvesting resources, ect.... So people are still making a fair ammount of money but the money they are making is simply changing hands from one player to the next and will eventually be cycled out through matenance.

I noticed that resources were dropping in price, myself. My server has always been something of a boomtown economy, with premium items going for millions or even tens of millions of credits. It used to be that color Force crystals were in that category, but when they boosted the frequency of their drops back in the late summer of '04, the prices dropped pretty rapidly. Now, a color crystal will retail for anywhere from 50k to 75k. I expect the same thing to occur with power crystals and pearls sooner or later. The devs had to do something to boost the availability of pearls and such to keep up with the number of new Jedi. After all, crystals deteriorate over time with use.

Bringing prices down is a GOOD thing. Fewer ubergamers and more casual players can make some money and have fun. The wealth will be spread around a bit.

The solo group nerf hasn't stopped people bringing new money into the economy, only slowed one particular faucet down. I don't have access to numbers, but I'd imagine the recent Loot Revamp has produced a surge in new money coming both from looted corpse credits and NPC destroy mission rewards. The difference is people are now spreading out and killing all kinds of different things (Meatlumps, Tuskens, Binayre Pirates, Borvos, etc) instead of just running Janta missions out of the Dantooine Mining Outpost all day. Playing more of the game is a good thing.
