Sounds really good...greatly made my idea I posted earlier a lot better by making it a quest. Also, even though this pet would be really cool and useful, I doubt it would turn Creature Handler into a FOTM again. I doubt the hard core PvP'ers out there would pick up Master Creature Handler just for an ysalamiri.

However, Master CH can be combined with Master BH. Hard to say where that would lead...

Very well thought out. Dont know if I likle more continuity busting content, but then again this many jedi is worse. So if it lessens the jedi population Im for it! Personally I dont try for jedi. One day I may if I get bored. But if this made the jedi more careful and they hid more id be for it.

We all know about ysalamiri they are the sessile creatures fromMyrkr (Starwars.com database link), in the EU. They have the ability to block the force or creat a force ffree bubble in a small area.

I know TH himself said that they would never incorperate ysalamiri into the game but I came up with a way that adds content and will lend a much needed counter to the insane amount of jedi in the game.

the quest for the ysalamiri. ">(Starwars.com database link)

THis will be an epic quest for the MCH.

  • The MCHwill have to find Talon Karrad in game and do some quest for him. (suggestions are welcome)

  • This quest will be in a few parts which will provide pieces of a schmatic for the nutrient frame.

  • The nutrient frame will be craftabel by a MBE, but require parts from a DE (droid brain to regulate the nutrients) and a Medic (ALS or ABEC for the nutrients) and some logical resources (meat, wood, etc)

  • At the end of the quest Talon Karrad gives the MCH a ticket for his base on Myrkr,

  • This ticket is useable froma new shuttleport and will lead to an instanced dungon like the corvette

  • The MCH will be able to take 10 friends to search for a ysalamiri and will need them for vornskrswill roam the forest, (make them about as strong as kimos)

  • The MCH will have an opportunity to find then safely cut free the ysalamiri with a chance for failure the same as tameing, but if he fails the ysalamiri dies and a new one will have to be found

  • Perhaps a ranger could be required to find one (make this a true epic quest)

  • Of course all force powers would be useless there

  • The ysalamiri when properly bound to the nutrient frame would then be callable createing a 20m radius negative force bubble

  • Only a MCH can do the quest and call a ysalamiri

Any thoughts, and yes I know I am wasteing my time.

i like the concept. group activity... possibly instanced setting..... risk involved.....

really dont know what a negative force bublle would do...game mechanics wise. the ysalamiri could be the animal/pet version of the aurillian plant, except that it wont die on you...or at least make the quest repeatable. i know a lot of ppl like the aurillian plant. Some like it forthe benefits of the fruit. For others, it's like content....growing their own garden. maybe have the ysalamiri produce like a "milk" or something that gives fore resistant bonuses.....something likea resist to force lightning, weaken, choke and other such effects...or a mitigation damage done.

Well, what I ment is that maybe a lot of Bounty Hunters would try that template. A Jedi with no Force powers would be an easy bounty to collect.....making the Jedi cry nerf and 'sploit.

I like it talon

the quest base sounds good and i'm sure given a little time many quest suggestions would arise.

one thought about the negative force bubble effect

Ok assuming this may actually happen lol we all know there would be a fear of jedi being decimated by this and they're aprehension would be great.

I would not want to damage the're profession or make BH's become invulnerable either so this being said I would suggest that the negative force bubble effect apply defensively on the mch using it and his pets and only the mch and his pets.

The defensive protection would only protect you and your pets from force attacks like lightning, knockdown, choke....

The lightsaber would not be effected by this and the jedi would still be able to use his saber skills, and also his self healing, enhancing and self protective abilities. this would allow the jedi tonot be defensless while giving a mch some defenses.

This would also help us with npc's many of wich use force attacks on us and our pets. I had a f-mystic use petcalm and the sumna-gun came right at me and it was cloning time lol.

would be cool to have a defensive ability but I do not want to make anyone as helpless asnewb in a rancor cave lol

just food for thought

THe lightsaber would not be effected at all.
Well except LS toss would not work and the force bonous for accuracy would be gone. Also their chances of blocking your shots would now be 0

J3d1 SHOULD NOT be able to steal our pets and make them attack us.

I dont see them snatching rifles out of RMs hands and blasting them to pieces with it, why are pets different?
