I am certain I read that this bug had been reported, but if not , here goes:

Wandering Naboo between Keren and Kaadara, I was randomly wiping lairs to get babies to spawn so that I could tame. While I hadn't had any trouble to this point, and had successfully tamed several species on my trip including 2 lvl 16 Plains Tusk cats, several variations of spiders and many other low level creatures native to Naboo, I eventually encountered a problem.

During this time, I would occasionaly pull out my Bolotaur mount which I have trained to be my combat pet as well until my "keeper" pets are grown to a useable level. Let me say that levelling CH with a lvl 10 pet when you are lvl 29 is ....difficult to say the least. Anyway, so the Bolo and I are whacking low levels to spawn babies.

Eventually I am on the plain to the south of Kaadara and start on a Nest of hermit spiders. A baby spawns. I put up my Bolotaur ( im only a 0/0/0/2 CH at this point ) and go to tame the baby spider (lvl 1, other spiders in the spawn are level 4). I get the message "you can't tame that." I examine it and it says tamable, it is easily below my Creature level (16) and I had not encountered any problems before this (aside from the random "stop fighting" bug from my bolotaur).

Since then, I have not been able to tame ANYTHING. Nothing. Every baby creature I have encountered, including mission spawns, are UNTAMABLE. I can tame nothing new. I can hardly level in CH as is because of the discrepency between my only fully grown pets (Bolotaur mount, Kashyyyk Bantha mount both lvl 10 ), now I can't even get xp taming new babies?

How am I supposed to level Creature handler with this kind of situation? What I am trying to do is only level CH boxes so that I can raise my Creature Level without raising my Combat Level too much. What I am finding though, is that I level up CH my CL is rising such that the two will never be in any kind of balance. No matter what I do, I won't be able to fight anything effectively with my CL 16 Pets by the time they are full grown, because by that time I will be at least Combat lvl 40 myself...

Granted the new changes coming from test should address some of these issues since babies will be useable and full grown from the time you tame them....but if I also can't tame them.....then what?

Thanks for your time, I will remain patient and deal with this , though it is extremely difficult at times hehe

Yes, the bug is well know. I'm suffering from it right now, and just logged off. I'll check back tonight to see if I still "can't tame that" or if I'm fixed again, and can grab my savage humpaba I've been waiting for some time ( assuming it hasn't despawned in the meantime ).

If it's any consolation, your lower-level pets can be a combat asset. Make sure to group them with you ( if you're hunting solo, which it sounds like you are ), and they will benefit from your CL. As a L80 TKM/MCH, I frequently use my female Narglach trio ( all L22 ), and when grouped they (as a whole) deal out nearly as much damage as I do.

Give you character a couple of hour ( up to a couple of days ) rest, and you'll be back in the taming saddle. I've been hit by the "can't tame that" bug probably three times in the last week: it's been frustrating at times but I've worked around it.

Congrats on building your CH.
