Thread: How can I make sure the pet I buy from a vendor is mountable?
Im a non-CH and I bought a Carrion Spat on a vendor only to realize I couldnt call it.
How can I make sure the pet I buy from a vendor is callable & mountable for non-CH?
- Razsk
Only mountable level 10 BE pets at the moment are:
Dewback or Flumpaset
anything else will be to small even when fully trained.
BE's have raised this as a major issue affecting there business but no news on a change yet.

QFE.
Make sure the pet you buy from the bazaar/vendor is CL10 or below. As a Non-CH, you cannot call any pets above CL10.
The only BE made mounts that get large enough to actually be mounted at the moment are the falumpaset and dewback, as mentioned. Due to the BE sizing "issue" (aka big problem), BE pets are slightly smaller than their wild counterparts and will never grow large enough at CL10 to be mountable ... EXCEPT for the BE made falumpasets and dewbacks. So if you're buying from a vendor make sure the pet is CL10 and is a dewback or falumpaset. Try to make sure it's CL10, just to be safe that it will grow to the largest size it can possibly get for its level to ensure mount appropriateness.
And as mentioned, a CH can still go out and tame WILD baby cu pas, banthas, etc. that are CL10 and those WILL get large enough to be mountable since they are wild, so if you want a mount other than a falumpaset or dewback, talk to a CH. Also be prepared to pay big bucks ![]()
Good luck ![]()

It's really a shame, the number of pre-CU BE pet deeds that are being sold to unwary customers. Someone approached me in a starport yesterday and asked me if I could tame the CL128 pet he had just dropped a load of cash on. I felt really bad telling him that he had just bought a really expensive piece of furniture.
I agree. On my server I was looking to compare BE pet prices so I started vendor searching the bazaar to see what was out there. I was astonished to see people trying to getbig bucks for these pre-CU deeds that will not be usable and even higher prices for deeds that had abilities like poison and disease listed on them. I can't decide if it's because the people still holding and selling these deeds think that "one day" they might be good again (ha!) or that perhaps the "pet trade in" system will allow people to adjust the stats/CL accordingly (little do they know this is borked for all intensive purposes) OR they think that it's just their luck to still have a pre-CU item that might still somehow be usable and think its "rarity" deserves trying to get people to spend millions on something that will only be usable as furniture. I think we need more education out there so that people who are ignorant to this stop trying to sell these for insane amounts (or at least so they price them as decoration only) and those potential buyers don't get screwed.

Callable: All pets up to CL 10
Mountable: Better go to a CH - Sorry to all BE's, but I have no idea, whether or not there are any BE-Pets, which are mountable right now. I saw a level 10 Bantha yesterday, fully grown, which had the size of a Dwarf Bantha. Would be cruelty to animals to mount such pets
to the OP: to be callable by Non-CHs pets also must not be aggressive (con red in wild). Most mounts won't be but in case you decide to look for another pet keep this in mind.
