Hi guys,

Hopefully in the next day or so I should make Novice CH. So I was wondering what creatures would you guys recommend I should or could tame.

Thanks

psst, read some of the other posts!

And if you do you'll see the majority recommend Cu pa's, and I'd have to agree though I dont have much experience yet. Reason is if you go too big you'll not get any CH xp really for reasonable mobs, the cu pa is just a nice all around mob to start out with because it's ham is ok, and it has a ranged attack and can also stun. You'll get good CH xp with this critter in almost any fight. I would imagine that pretty much any other mob with comparable stats would do equally well.

OK, I'm still quite overwhelmed by the number of weapons and range of quality on the weapons out there. Is there a best Pistol, or are there several types that can fall into that category if experimented up to 100% or near that.

If there is a best, what is it? I would assume DX2, but just because a cert is higher doesnt mean it's better, or so I'v found. And what are the best stats anyone's seen on a non-sliced non-powerupped pistol? If I have to go hunting I want a ballpark figure to expect on the speed/damage ratio.

I'm sitting on a vein of plumbum and am hoping that I'll be able to trade the materials for the best pistol I can find.

Thanks,

Neclon

This is a difficult question because what people are starting to realize is that not all damage is equal. There are many kinds of damage-energy, heat, acid, etc., and the damage that they cause would be dependent on what type of armor their opponent was wearing (or not weaing).

There will come a time when the good combat-types will carry multiple weapons and use each on accordingly based on the armor that their opponent is wearing.

Read the Armor guide that this website posted it'll give you some insite into the game's damage mechanics.

Hmm, but if I'm not planning on PvP anytime soon, and simply want the best damage per second against banthas and whatnot? Is it still completely vague?

Best thing I would say to do, is study up on what you are killing, find out what kinda of damage is best to take it out, then study up on the weapons and find out what is the best to kill it.

First thing my opinion is you want an AR2 gun since it is going to have the best dmg modifier. But if you find that something is high damaged by acid or heat, than that is the type of gun to go for. Personally I have not looked into all these things, but that is what the Strat guide is for.

Correct me if I am wrong on this guys, I am not trying to pretend I am smart on this.

I am a Master Marksman/Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler and wish to be Force Sensative but not a Jedi. I have gotten to "Glowie" and am now waiting for the Old Man to show up and just have some questions:

1. Do I just have to hang around of the middle of nowhere untill he shows up?

2. I think I have 18 skill points left (I think I need 24 to reach Jedi don't I?) and was wondering what skills you think I should pick up from Force Sensative? I was thinking some of these would help my character Ranged Accuracy, Ranged Speed, Ranged Defence, Melle Defence, Luck and Persuasion. Do you think these would be good for me? I read that one of those skills needs medic XP? Or something? Which on and is it worth getting?

3. Is there anything else I need to know/should do?

DavidHarper,

Here are some answers for ya...

1. You do not have to hang around in the middle of nowhere, BUT you do have to be out of a city and Player City for the Old Man to show up.

2. You only need 24 skill points if you get all 24 FS blocks. If you are not planning on going Jedi, you don't need all the points. I would recommend getting combat related FS skills. The ones you list are fine. BUT, you should also keep in mind that if you area master in a ranged class, with the addition of the FS skills, you may "cap" a specific skill from Master and the FS skills you have will not apply and give you no bonus.

- Here is my take on Luck and Persuasion:

---- Luck gives you more credits when you loot npc mobs and gives you a better chance of getting better loot.

---- Persuasion makes it so when you buy new skill blocks from trainers, the cost is reduced. Also, you may get better reactions from npc's when doing quests. I'm not sure what else this does.

- So, you really need to look at your final combat template and skill bonuses and determine what combat skills will help you. Then choose another FS skill that will help you in other ways like Survial and/or Vehicle Control.

--- Remember, if you get the Healing line in FS but do not have the Novice Medic skill, the FS bonuses do not work. Same for Survial if you do not have the Novice Scout skill.

3. Not sure what to tell you on this one. If you have more questions, post em.

The old man was waiting for me at the shuttleport of the Imperial Outpost on Dantooine. As soon as I loaded he was there.

if i had 18 skill pts and was not going jedi, with your template, i would not ranged speed, with pistol you're already capped. I'd spend it on ranged and melee defence, ranged accuracy and then put the rest in luck and persuasion.

Just keep in mind that if you decide to go jedi at some point, you will definitely want melee speed and accuracy.

There doesn't seem to be anything else you would need to know. But before spending time grinding out the columns, make sure you plan to stick with that template. If you are considering a move to a melee profession, then you would have to really change the columns you go for. I guess its not a big deal to train more, but each tree is like mastering a profession almost 5 times. The problem I ran into is that I did my first tree with pikeman. After that I was so bored with pikes that I switched to fencer. Then after grinding my second tree I was so bored of fencer that if I hadn't gotten 4 free unlocks, I would have switched to a different profession for the next tree.

My point to all this is that you have to watch that you don't burn yourself out on pistol and then want something different after you put that much work into your force sensitive template.
