If you look at the combat schematic

http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/content.jsp?page=Combat%20Upgrade:%20Combat%20Schematic

It displays CH is in the tanking role (pets)

Currently you engage a pet, once you start attacking the mob runs away from the pet and comes straight for you.

This screws the typical rifleman/ch.

I send a cl62 pet against a cl60 mob, fully engaged. Once I shot with the rifle the mob comes straught for me.

Yea If you promise not to tell anyone I'l let ya in on a secret lol.

They will be adding a "hate attracion" to pets, this way they draw agro and will act as tanks again.

It will be out soon, the devs are tossing a fix in for us. but no one supposed to know.

Trust me it will be fixed soon.

I am sorry that you had to find out the hard way Scoooter. This has been in the test center forums from day

one. It's the direct opposite effect described by the Combat Professions model. The truth is the player/pet

that does the most damage gets the most hate from the mob/NPC and is attacked. I bypass this with

stopping shot and Underhand KD. It takes some creative fighting to overcome it but it is possible as long as

you stay within 1-2 CL levels of your own. I can't say it makes me happy but with the currentworkload of

the development team we can expect no love on this anytime soon despite reports otherwise. My heart

goes out to you and I wish you the best of luck.

check this out, i took one of my chs out to fight some meatlumps last night with a level 67 razorcat and he ate them easily enough, however there was a point where he just crouched for like 3 minutes and did not move, while they shot my doc. LOL.

why would the cat just stop and sit there? happened like 3 times.

Did you recall your pet at anytime during this? My experiance has been once a pet is recalled, like trying to pull a mob from a group, the pet will not re-engage until the mob comes within attack range. The pets will not attempt to close the distance in other words.

Happened to me once too in a duel, but I was actually glad for it, as I accidently used /endduel forgetting that all the wonderful bugs were still live, so my pets might of accidently hurt my opponent if that hadn't of happened :/.
