Thread: Creature Handler Epic Quest?

Was just thinking about the end game and jedi and what there is left to do for those who have maxed out their characters. Something that would take a lot of work but would be a goal to work towards slowly as you play and enjoy not having to exp.

For creature handler my thought would be a quest to tame all the creatures of the galaxy. At the end maybe give a big boost to the creature handler skill in what he can control, like extra 20CL and an extra pet (so a total of 4 at a time).

They would have to go around and tame every baby type in the game though...on each planet....its a LOT of work if you look at all the creatures out there. 1 planet alone might take months to find all the most rare creatures and their babies. Would be a BIG achievement though for anyone that managed to do it...and would really earn them the right to be a master of masters.

Oh well, just an idea...dont know if it has been posted before. (im sure the idea of an "epic" quest has been posted though)

I don't know, this Great Plains Stalker search would be a pretty epic thing, for me anyway.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Good point in your post, though.

You know, in SW Galactic Battlegrounds, the Naboo mountedunits ride around on oversized Tusk Cats.

The Trade Federation mountedunits ride around on big mechanical bugs.

Well I'm all for an epic ch quest.

Taming all creatures would really be hard but it could be fun specially the higher end/rarest ones. Having to tame all sort of lvl 5 critters would be boring but hey, it's called epic for a reason!

I'd of course love the +20 cl because it would allow me to takeoutmy blurrg and mantigrue hunter at the same time again. They were such good friends growing up...

Taming at least one of each tamable beast out there, would definitely be an epic quest.

However, since babies have changed (new ones added and some gone extinct), and I like the idea of tamables changing (especially new ones being added)...it would be difficult to code.

An easier solution would be a 'tame one of each of a (random list per player) of babies" - this list would be seeded with a good mixture of low, mid and high lvl babies, and a sprinkling of a few rares.

This way, there would be variety, and still provide a challenge to any Master CH. Plus, no two Masters would necessarily need to tame the exact same babies. AND, the random generated list can change as new babies are introduced (or old ones become extinct).

It can be handled like the counter for Explorer missions, where once you've tamed a required baby, it is ticked-off your list.

Also, to start the quest, you would have to search for a 'retired' hunter (kind of like the fabled Hermit (lol). Of course, his cave would be guarded by some fearsome beast, whom he has never been able to capture, and you have to prove your hunting skills by killing it, and setting the old man free - then he is glad, and in return, gives you a gift (something to aid your taming percentage???, or perhaps he gives you one of his "special" pets), and sets you off on the quest he was never able to complete (because he was trapped here for years by the beast).

Yeah, that sounds cool!

I still have that game loaded in.

I'm not to sure we CH's qualify for epic quests. Our whole prof is kinda based on an epic quest isn't it? Ya know, findin' rares and such. <--- thats a smiley

You know, that sounds kinda cool. Have a list of certain tameable pets per planet.

Need 10 or so on each planet with a mix of levels. Love the idea of a legendary hunter/tamer.

Yea, I would go for it.

That sounds really intriguing. I'm not so sure about taming one of everything in the game (that could take multiple years with the spawner's current behavior on some planets - particularly if we get everything CL 70 and under to spawn babies). The generated checklist of things to tame seems somewhat similar to the Jedi Knight trials (possibly making it easier to code?)

Tivo would probably be grandfathered-in - LOL TIVO DA MAN...and I am da WOOKIEE!

Just tamed my Mantigrue Screecher last night (boy, was that a challenge...no buffs...most lairs had other aggro creature lairs RIGHT NEXT to them!...finally got that baby spawn (from a static lair right near my mission lair)...luckily, at the time, no other aggro animals were in range...mwwaaahahahahahaaaaa.

So my rares include...Mantigrue Screecher, Thune Grassland Guardian, Prowling Gurreck (which is not really that rare - tamed another 'sitting in the wild' baby yesterday, and gave to another aspiring CH), and a couple not so rares - Gaping Spider Recluse, Crimzon Razor Cat.

Next up...Bull Rancor...then the ellusive hunt for the Great Plains Stalker - last count, approx. 12 static spawns...approx. 36-48 adults, and not a baby in sight.

THE HUNT...learn it...live it...love it!
