I am convinced that this profession is clearly one of coolest but, least beneficial professions in all of SWG. I love my pets but, they arepretty useless....god bless them.
Most of you"true" CH's out there are good, solid players and deserve a round of applause for sticking with this for so long. It doesn't take rocket science or bio-engineering to see how bad off the CH profession really is. For my own sake, Ihad to relieve anydoubtsconcerning the state of thisprofession.
In the end,my doubts have been confirmed and I must move on.
Thanks to those who have provided knowledgeable insight and information. As of tonight I will hand SWG my Master Creature Handler title.

The XP per kill was excruiatingly low. All in all, I had a fair time playing CH. I think I wound up in the cloner a few toomany times, relying soley on pets to pull me out of the fray rather than if I had just used the uber, Bio-Engineer burst run technique....lol. It was always tough to seemy petsand I plagued hard by bull rancors or manti screechers then spending the rest of the time looking for a doc.

yea it really was a grind wasnt it?
Is it a normal thing for Bull Rancors to disease the mind only? I never got a health or action disease from these big guys...always mind disease. For all intent and purpose, a BE with a strong mind disease is a BE that is through DNA sampling until healed.
The TK skills for self-healing and defense will be far more effective than a pet trying to pull aggro off of me.
One last note, in my time as a Non-CH, Bio-Engineer, IDNA sampled Bull Rancors extensively and I saw manyBaby Bull Rancors on Dathomir. As I leveled up through CH, I saw less and less of them until finally I saw none. I'm sure this purely coincidental but, I had some really hard line suspicions for awhile.
I don't have to worry about it now but, good luck to you guys finding your rares. If I find any rare babies...I will make sure and contact my nearest MCH.
you guys take care

Yes, it is the special Plague Strike and it is a mind disease and nasty.

I agree with you there. I am MCH/MTK. I hunt those beasts for babies and the Meditation saves me the hassle of trying to find a non-buffbot doc. Which is almost impossible on my server.
The baby Bulls you saw may not have been Bulls. I do not know how many times I got a tell telling me a baby spawned from a Bull lair. When I get there, you guessed it, it was a regular Rancor or a variant of one. Most babies that spawn from Bull Lairs are not Bulls.

I'm aware of the normal Rancor babies spawning out of the Bull Rancor lairs. That's why it struck me as odd, whereI used to run into (a Bull Rancor (baby)) quite often as a Non-CH only to level up as a CH and start seeing less and less of them. I probably spend as much time on Dathomir DNA sampling the baddies asCH's do looking for rares. In short, what Iam saying is that I can tell the difference from a bull and a regular rancor by the tag....hehe. But, I do understand where you are coming from because this is a common misunderstanding by most who don't pay close attention.
I have played for a good while now but, this is the first time I haveheard that "plague strike" affects the mind only. Never too late to learn something new.
As always, good info from the CH community..even for a vet player. Thanks.

One less CH on my server
Oh well, I am sure you will be back with your own uber pet when combat upgrade hits
Like you, I am MBE/MCH and there is something very cool about fighting along side with your own creation. I just love the moment when your pet tanked well enough for your ranged friends to finish the enemy off. It makes you proud that you made that pet yourself.

Guys I got to be honest with you ch is not a terrible grind. It can be done in three or four days. Not that you will be mentally stable afterwards. Go outside eisley sick way underpowered critter on rill womprat and worrt. Average 100 points a kill 6 or 7 kills a minute back and forth across the southern plain. Since there is like no time between kills. You are pretty set for a steady climb up the ladder. It is terribly tedious, and annoying. Though it can be done in four days. I went through two rows of ch doing this in just a couple days. Though by the end I was border line carpel tunnel, and totally without joy. Then again I found the smuggler grind to actually take longer then a ch grind. It took me just under a week to do that profession. Mostly because the attacks in smuggler blow, and you get less then ample weapons choices to use. Maybe it would have been easier if I had stockpiled locked containers and resources for a few weeks before I started the grind, and maybe if I could have invested in another template with it. Though I was getting master smuggler to stack on a weaponsmith. So there you go.
They really need to switch up the point gain on ch. Maybe not till the revamp. But where is the logic better points for useing novice ch skill. It dosent work this way for other professions. As a bh if I go around melting womprats with my llc all I get is one point. A ch goes around useing appropriate pet for skill level and gets 1 point. If I want the best points with my bh I go to fight the hard things. If my ch wants the best points he uses a garbage eating womprat on other garbage eating womp rats. Something aint right about this.

Speed up to get the Master title that big of a deal? I had master 6 proffession, not that i was a holo whore, but i found that after i master a prof, it's became boring of using the samething over and over again. This time i am grind CH again with rifleman, and i am taking my time with those. Hunting with your pet and have him tanking for you while you try several different shot that prof have to offer been a blast for me. I for once dont look forward to speed up the grinding speed i am going, just enjoying what the game have to offer.
Just my 2 credit

True i could have been a Master by now, but what's the rush? i normally get rid of some pets just to catch new ones to use to see which i like better at a certain level....i go for DAYS, just walking around seeing about different babies, never killing a thing, somedays i kill alot...i'm in no rush... it's not a grind i am doing , it's my daily activities my character does in this universe...i role play...it's more fun that way!

Well I ground the ch after the bh fix. That limited skillpoint use. I had a master bh and dang well refused to give it up. So by the time they pulled this out I was seriously fiending do something else to entertain me. You think CH is expensive try bh when it cost 218.

Welcome to the Creature Handler Community, always looking for new Creature Handlers cause well, they are the coolest people around what can we say
And your right CH is a great prof. i love all my critters (even if they are pretty useless) its more the thrill of the catch and showing off your pets to others. (Maybe even having some fun making your pets chase noobs around Eisley?). I'll extend my congratz to on Mastering!

Ohh and if you happen to find that elusive "baby bull" rancor please please send me a tell. I have been hunting these for way to long now and have yet to even see a single one. Thanks again bro.
