Thread: Pets or droids not responding to commands...

I just noticed this yesterday, that when I make a command to a droid or a pet, that the creature is not responding and just giving me an exclamation point over its head. Anyone else having this problem?...

Actually, the ! is supposed to be an acknowledgement of the command.
I haven't been having this problem at all, at least with creatures. Haven't had an opportunity to use commands on one of my droids recently.

I have not been having a problem. Two things it might be. I thought they were not responding to the stay command because I did not hear the roar. They responded but SOE made them mute. It is a bug. I have had various problems getting mounts to respond to commands in the past. It seemed to be a hit or miss thing but only with mounts.

Nope, they are simple not responding other than the ! when I command then. Follows, attack, trick, nothing...

Hmm, I wasn't seeing this with my own pets yesterday (except for the exclamation mark, which is pretty distracting and annoying IMHO). If you get a chance, please check again tonight and I'll do the same. Let me know if this is still happening.

Happened to me as well today. Not all the time though. I was on Dath at the village when it happened, and my pet wouldn't group with me nor store.
I also had to burst run away from a mob when buffs started fading, I ran for 2.4k meters on that burst run, was 2k away from the mob before the aggro dropped, had a dizzy hit me from him at 1.8k, center of being stayed on for the whole 2.4k run. Stopped and called my bike, and it took 6 1/2 minutes to show up from my data pad. Seems like it may have been some sort of time glitch. I wasn't lagging, and was getting all the center of being messages from my macro every 30 seconds saying I was already focused... it just seems that game time may have been screwed up a bit.
This may be something similar to what's happening with our pets... I didn't stick around for 6 1/2 minutes after I told my pet to store, I just left him standing next to the exp converter guy.

I noticed this too. My Nemo wouldn't respond to attack commands or follow commands for a while. Stored her and called her back and she was back to normal.

I have always had this problem. I always repeat commands too make sure.
But I have noticed that the ! now spams in my chat window. With three pets out it can spam all my text off the screen. The only way to stop it is turn system messages off, which I dont like to do cause it gives important information. Pet responses should have their own category, not be system messages.

Yeah, that's a good question. Are you in a crowded region when this is happening? Like Coronet or parts of Dathomir?

I'm not sure if you would consider the village crowded... at the time it happened to me, there was only myself and one other player in the village (along with all the npc's sith, etc.). It didn't appear to be a lag problem, rather that whatever keeps "time" in the game (i.e. generating vehicle in 15 secs... popping out 6 1/2 minutes later... and the burst run lasting from the village to 2.4k away from it to the middle of nowhere toward the science op... lol) seemed to have glitched. I didn't confirm this was the problem with the pet, as I didn't wait 6 1/2 minutes to see if it joined my group, but they happened at about the same time. Also, my attacks fighting the sith there weren't lagging... seems to have affected only parts of the game.
Hopefully this leads someone in the right direction to find the cause of this bug.

i HAD this problem, my solution, just re-teach the pet the command, worked for me
