Thread: What do you want from BEs regarding CH level pets?

I've seen many a CH wander into my shop and wander out with nary a purchase. There are times I'll be there crafting and see someone spend 15 minutes in my showroom then buy pet stims / pet food and leave. Obviously, they spent most of that time perusing pets but didn't find anything they liked.

Rather than put them on the spot with "what were you looking for that you didn't find?", since it smacks too much of the applaince salesman following you around when you just want to look, I'll ask here.

What do you find lacking on BE vendors today? Is there a set of resists that BEs are missing? Armor on a certain level of pet? Certain skins? Do you find adequately stocked vendors and the prices are just too high? What are the biggest problems you face when trying to find a BE pet?

I think it varies from CH to CH.

Personally, I check first damage and resists and second of all, special attacks.

I mostly look for properties that I don't see as babies or rare to find.

Okay, but what about the damage and resists are you looking for?

For me light armor is a must. I usaully look at kin resists first, then energy, then damage. Also I'm partial to Gurrecks and other cat skins, I prefer something that runs fast. No Durnis for me.

Yeah, I like the cat skins as well. For the most part though, there is just a huge lack of good pets in the high end range with good resists. I have been trying to get a mantigrue clone (insane, deranged, reaper... anything with good high resists) and can never find anything that even comes close around level 40-50. So, basically I'm looking for good resists. Second, I look for good specials, Intimidate, Stun, Cripple, stuff like that. Since damage really isn't too important to me, that is the least of my worries (I'm a Rifleman).

I would have to say, in order of importance to me:

light armor
max kin res
damage 350-500 (or so)
specials: intimidate, stun, crippling strike. (the first one is a must, either one for other)

then, the other factor is Energy Res. as occasionally, the Pirate on Lok or NS slave will attack. (this one here is a bonus feature)

I think most CH's prefer the cat skins because of the speed.

I have yet to find a decent BE pet that matches these qualities. I have stopped by a few vendors and seen a few that had some of these qualites but not all. I saw one that had them all, minus the Light armor. I would stay away from the 'large' skins as most CH's realize how annoying the large creatures can be with obstructing views and just getting in the way.

Now, I will admit, I know nothing about the BE prof, but if you could make two lvl 35 pets like this, they would probably go fast. Make them with alternating specials, for max advantage. Or maybe offer a sale, get them both, and get a certain amount taken off the total. (I really don't care that much about price. I think a fair amount of CH's are not really poor. We supplement our income gathering resources or just taking down Bull Ranc lairs.)

High resistance, High HAM, and then special attacks. Resistance is key sometimes in abattle. I have a BE graul level 30 that can take down two maulers on his own without me because of the resist. That's pretty good. HAM because when I'm fighting tough creatures with high attack, all I want my pet to do is survive. If he hangs in there, then I can kill the enemy myself since I can inflict a good amount of damage. Special Attacks, is obvious why. Well, they help in PvP for one, and they can apply states and other such things that are useful.

Also, YAY!!!!!!! 400th post!!

...yup, kin resist, damage, poison/disease as special... and having 2 pets like that lvl 35 is very usefull so that I can max out missions I can pull if I group with them. I got 2 Gurrecks like that and if I use them with a droid or AT ST grouped I got a nice solo group and maximum payout.

For me AR1 is a MUST #1

High knet for general hunting pets

High Enegery/otherblaster res.for faction hunting pets

The res dont have to be on the same pet, I have seperate hunting and faction hunting pets

next HAM

Thirdly specials perf Dizzy or KD or posture change or none at all I will give up specials for HAM or res

I am not concerned about damgage at all as I plan on doing the damage, more xp for me anyway

as far as skins go cats are the absolute best, its funny watching reb NPC's trying to "out run" a cat to keep that optimal range.......

if any BE's do custom orders on Nartius send a e-mail to Annazar as I am looking to expand my number of faction huntingpets, I have3 lvl 50 but none under that so I am looking for some at 20 or a couple with AR1 and around lvl 35 or even better lvl 22

I look for pets that have light armor, 60% kenitic, and I don't want a pet with ranged attack. I want a in your face pet so they don't run to et range to shoot.

Energy resists is a second. My pets are tanks so damage is not as important.

I want a Krayt, but that is beside the issue. I know that Krayts are too powerful for even MCH's, but if they can do it with a Kimo (saw one with 45000 HAM), then they should be able to do this with a Krayt as well, at least a Juvenile.

I think most CHs are looking for pets that fulfill the traditional pet role, that of a tank, a creature that grabs aggro from a target, retains it, and hangs in there.

So, obviously, light armor is important, high kin resist, then energy, is important, and as high an H bar as you can get is important. The most useful special is the Intim attack, mainly because it works, and because it reduces the damage to the pet holding aggro so it can tank longer. If KD/DIzzy combos worked reliably, they'd be pretty awesome, but alas the pet KD attack seems to be broken.

And yeah, the cat skins, because of the speed. It's oh so helpful to launch the gorreck on five maulers, get all their attention, then I can waltz in and deal damage taking litte damage myself because the gurreck has them all entertained.

So far, I've been trying to do two things. First, take a super non-CH tank and push the stats further, giving a high teens to triplet range pet with good but uneven HAM with light armor and trying for specials. The other thing has been to gather interesting looking DNA, toss it in a pot and see what cooks up in the triplet/twin range. Many times I simply try for a small value on a bunch of resists (Kinetic being very high, of course) to ensure that the light armor is effective across many damage types. I'll admit I haven't been paying much attention to damage outside of MCH pets and I think I'll start doing more of that.
