Thread: Weird bug while naming a pet

It's probably a name filter issue. I could not name a savage humbaba "Concorde", probably because of the string "corde", the name of one of Senator Amidala's decoys, killed in the landing platform assasination attempt at the beginning of Ep II. Had to name the hum "Concord" instead. Denis Moore would probably not approve, but what the hey...

My brain may be farting but I think it is some sort of planetoid name.

Also make sure when you need to rename a named pet that you rename them using the commands you use d to name them. Won't matter in your case but just for people to remember. Otherwise you have 2 names fighting for supremacy in the command list.

I was training a pet for someone last night and I messed up the spelling of name for the pet when giving it the commands to name it. No big deal, I thought. I'll just reissue the commands with the correct spelling and the pet will have the correct name. No luck. When I retrained the pet with at least 5 commands (i.e. "Name attack", "Name stay", etc.) it still won't take the new, correct name. I couldn't figure it out and eventually just had to give the person their pet with the incorrect name. The only tricky part was I giving the pet some multiple word commands sometimes (e.g. "Follow me") that might have confused the name filter. In order to check that, I made all the commands single letter commands and then issued the commands with the correct name followed by the command. Still no luck -- the old name stuck. Anyone else have any experience with this?

FYI the pet was a horned rasp if that makes any difference.

EDIT: Fixed some typos.

it's possible the filter won't allow the correct spelling of the name..what was the name you were trying for?

The name was supposed to be Celest but I accidently named the bird Celeste. That's a good possibility, though I'm not sure why Celest wouldn't be allowed.
