Thread: Plague strike info?

Hey all,

I finally got a screecher a couple days ago and I'm hoping to try him out in PvP (shush! Don't tell anyone on my server!). I was wondering if anyone had detailed, current info on plague strike and its effects in PvP so I could know what to expect. I read in some older posts that plague strike does a total of 1500 wounds to a random pool in as many ticks as it takes to get there. Anyone confirm this? How often do the ticks go? And how much does each tick do assuming a reasonable amount of battle fatigue (i.e. less than 200)?

Thanks.

I've seen in my tests that the tick is usually in the 200-300 range at best, and I've heard that it will never tick beyond the person's base (unbuffed) stats. Meaning if they only have 400 health without buffs, it will only tick to 400 and then stop.

Have to say it seems like there's a serious disconnect between plague strike applied during PvE and that applied by a pet in PvP. I've seen people blackbarred in short order (fully buffed) when fighting screechers in PvE, but it seems like nothing more than a minor annoyance in PvP usage.

Whyis it CMs can disease you 700-900 a tick all the way through your buffs but our pets' disease won't?

I can confirm that it only wounds you sufficiently so that you'll have 1/1 when unbuffed (I got the plague several times while hunting for my screecher). Still that's a pretty important chunk of a person's HAM. My question here was mainly about whether it would get that way in PvP fast enough to matter. I appreciate the responses and I'm definitely looking forward to running the experiment myself.

That depends on how much BF they have. At a BF of 200 it does roughly 400 wounds per tick and at 0 it does like 180.
