Fellow handlers,
I'm looking for an arachne widow and so far it's one of the fewcreatures I have never seen in the wild. And I've travelled around Endor a lot, to find the other great creatures that live there.Do you have any tips on finding a widow? Can you take missions for them (my feeling is not, because I can take CL 56 missions, screechers for example)? But then again Widows are level 58. I can make my "solo" group even bigger if need be by adding a faction pet. From the waypoints I have from swgcreatures.com it is clear that they are found near the research outpost the most, but all I can find are arachne hatchlings. Any tips would be appreciated.
Thank you,

If you go east from the research outpost you'll often find them within 500m-2.5k of the starport. The smaller lairs are 1 Queen/1 Widow in the guard wave, you'll occasionally see them with more widows per wave though.

Look for the lairs in the area he described with queens/widows only, and look early in the day for them. Ive seen a lot of jedi grind on the queens and widows on my server so they pretty scarce late in the afternoons.

After writing this I found my first lair NE of the research outpost (doesn't it always go like this)
It was a lair with 1 queen and 3 widows as described by CrazyGreggy. I killed them all, wave after wave, but sadly no baby.
But what the heck, this was my first encounter with them. I will tame a widow one day. And like Louannarchy mentioned it does seem to be a favourite place for Jedis, didn't take long before I saw one. But I'm a European playing on Bria so starting out early just after a server restart is no problem at all for me.
Thanx for the reactions so far,

On my second try to find a lair I stumbled accross a lair with 1 queen and 1 widow. The queen was already dead because a Jedi was doing his stuff. I scared the Jedi off and started shooting with my rifle. At one point a yellow dot appeared. I couldn't believe it, this was only my second ever widow lair afterall. I was patient and killed the queen first. Started taming, nothing. Second try, aggro, damn..., running. After returning to the lair another queen had spawned so I took care of that one first and started taming again..., bingo!
I feel so guilty, some people kill hundreds upon hundreds to find one and it only took me half a day and 2 lairs. Well, I'm gonna enjoy it, thanks all.

Oh, btw, I found it 2k NE of the Research Outpost. I also found the first lair NE of it but somewhat closer. If you encounter a Jedi, just stand next to them and they will go away allright, if you are lucky.

Congrats on the tames. It took me many many lairs to finally get a widow baby to pop. One thing to be careful about in taking out the queens is that I believe that they have area attack poison which could endanger the baby. I would prolly try for a mask scent hold first

I go all the way up to the ewok tree villages as aracne always spawn well around the ewoks for some reason. Perhaps its why the ewoks live in trees
