I am pleased to say that I have finally caught my Great Plains Stalker!
After being ripped to bits in seconds by one of these during the first month or two after the game launch, I have been obsessed with taming one. For a long time I wondered if I had just imagined that the GPS existed or if they were a test creature that got yanked from the game, because nobody I asked had any idea of what I was talking about. When I finally found others discussing the GPS on the CH boards, it rekindled my drive to find and capture one. I've thought about dropping some CH to free up points, and the GPS is honestly the reason that I haven't.
Although I had a good run where I found GPS spawns nearly every day, it's been weeks since I've seen one. Today, I found spawns scattered all over Corellia. In some cases, I'd stop to do something else, look up and just happen to see a gigantic cat looming in the distance. It might be more fair to say that the GPS found me.
Ironically, the most tense part of the process wasn't fighting the adults -- it was fighting Time Warner. My internet connection has been dropping for minutes at a time today, sometimes while in the middle of a fight. I'd have to wait to reconnect to find out if I was even still alive. The problem worsened right when I found what was to be my final spawn. Thank god for my pets and bleed shot. It was a nailbiter waiting to see whether I'd come back to find myself in the cloner or next to a GPS corpse.
Two adults down and I finally called Time Warner. After they did some mojo that seemed to fix the problem, I came back to discover the third adult was nowhere to be seen! Fortunately, the adult showed up on my AreaTrack (the GPS is also a large reason that I have been keeping Ranger).
I couldn't believe it when I realized a baby spawned. I immediately stored my pets, dropped my weapon, and ate some Crisp Munchies. I couldn't remember which droid contained my +25 Taming Vicious/Wild creature pants and started to panic. Finally, I just decided to go for it - my heart was pounding a mile a minute! Fortunately, I tamed it in the first try!

Thanks, everyone!
And congratulations on your swamp stalker, Sio. After I take some time off to rest, that might be my next obsession.

This was on Bloodfin. If you're on that server, I'd be glad to send you the waypoints from my sightings.

nice i had two spawns yesterday side by side. Those were the first two spawns I have seen in over a year. If you could find spawns I dont think they would be that rare, much like the prowling gurrek. Finding a spawn is the hard part, but it also makes the GPS seem more obtainable than a bull rancor. They are all crazy hard to find though, congrats.

I am on Gorath.
I saw three spawns about a month ago but unfortunately there were no Babies from any of these.
Have not gone out hunting GPS since. Might be time to give it another try.
I did get my Swamp Stalker so now I just need a Bull Rancor and a GPS and I'll be happy!

Grats on the tame
I also have had no luck with this one. I've seen one spawn EVER. Since then, practically no animals in the area. Not a clue what to do
